An Error Has Occured Please Try Again.
Trying to post a comment at news.com.au Firefox (all recent updates) uniquely and always returns An Error Has Occurred Please Try Again. No problems with Opera, Chrome, or Edge. So far I have deleted cache, cleared all related cookies, refreshed Firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but none that made any difference.
Are there any logs kept somewhere that might suggest what 'An Error' is? Anything else I can try? Thanks,

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Clear the cache":
- Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now""
"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
You may note I did all of that prior to posting, although not so explicitly enumerating the steps required for same.
"So far I have deleted cache, cleared all related cookies, refreshed Firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but none that made any difference. And yes, everything was defaulted, no add-ons, and no information about what "an error" might be.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks and history and cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
It apparently doesn't know it has history so it thinks there is nothing to forget, but it seems to think it has auto login history. Something has to be corrupted.
Maybe starting with a new profile will fix it. Will try that later.
Had to delete AppData/Roaming/Firefox and disable sync. Funny no problems on the other synced devices, just this one. But every time it synched the problem recurred. By trial and error I stopped synching things and with logins and the problem changed to malformed content on the one site.
I found if I copied the text I wanted to post, deleted it, and pasted it back img {-moz-force-broken-image-icon: 1;} would be appended. If I deleted that, the post would go through. Google hits suggest it is a mix of add-ons, but I have worked through that and still cannot pinpoint why. But, progress.
