firefox just sits when I try to open a facebook page
When I try to access a facebook page firefox latest version will not do anything. I can click on the site, double click and all to no avail. I have tried the about:config, change dns.pv6 or whatever with no success. What must I do to be able to read a facebook page? Thanks rcb13

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

This makes Firefox work as it should but it does not solve the problem.
I don't want to have to go to "safe mode" everytime I want to look at something with a facebook account. How do I access the above mentioned pages with a "normal" opening of firefox? I also noticed that firefox is now opening additional tabs when I open firefox. What would cause this? Thanks rcb13
Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.
Disabled all add-ons. Still cannot access facebook pages, firefox still loading blank tabs. Only had three add-ons. I am still unable to open any facebook pages with going to Safe Mode. I am not going to use this method to read a facebook page. There is something wrong somewhere with Firefox to cause the extra blank tabs and inability to open a facebook page. Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar. Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Appearance. Then select Default.
Now restart Firefox.
Extra blank tabs are gone. Went to start page and selected "firefox start page" only, deleted "start blank" Still not able to open facebook pages without safe mode. Firefox still not right.
