How to stop screen from switching to new tabs every time a new one is generated?

more options

The company I work for has a system set up where every time the phone rings, the caller ID pops up in a new tab on the browser. While this is helpful, it lacks the ability to prioritize between calls. The ideal situation would be: the phone rings, employee picks up, Caller ID tab opens up, multiple calls come in during current call, new tabs open up, BUT the screen stays fixed on the current call.

Is there a way to do this?

The only thing I found while browsing the web:

browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs

is changing the above setting on the browser configurations.

Will this work?

Preferences > General -> Tabs = When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately = is that check-marked?

Beyond that, what is installed on your computer that provides or handles that Caller ID feature? IMO, there should be a 'toggle' in that application / extension / plugin to allow the user to place priority on the call they are currently handling. Unless that application opens popup windows that you are overriding via the Open new windows in a new tab instead.

No, it is not checked. This is what makes the situation all the more confusing. The browser settings seem to be fine.

The installation is a software package/platform built by another company that we use to make relevant information easy to input for the current caller. It makes out business more efficient.

It works great when there are only a few calls coming in.

But it's very hectic when there are multiple calls coming in. I've already talked to the other company's customer care team. They said that their package does not have such a feature yet, and told me to play around with the browser settings.

Is it possible to create an add-on in-house to help take care of this problem?

I appreciate your response. Thank You.

Your company might be able to create an add-on to change that action, but the add-on would need to be verified & signed by Mozilla.
