Does Firefox use ip 38.113.165.7x for health reports and data?
I see large packets of data going to 38.113.165.xx addresses - .71 for example. Using netstat -no I see that this is Firefox. Is Firefox using this address to receive health and data reports which I have enabled? Is it downloading lists of bad sites? Or do I have a more serous problem. Perhaps data is being hi-jacked? Is there another explanation?

Thanks for the reply, Your information was enlightning. However, I made an error. It was actually ZoneAlarm vsmon that was using the ip 38.113.165.xx. ZoneAlarm has been acting strange. Your information will help in determining why I see so much data being exchanged with unknown entities. I think I can rule out Firefox as a problem. I did find a reference to ZA in the browser console output: "Ignoring missing add-on in C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Install\dntme-firefox.xpi. "

hi subdla, as firefox might use some content delivery networks for that purpose it is not possible to tell what is going on just based on an ip address. if you want to know exactly which connections firefox is opening press ctrl+shift+j in the browser in order to open the browser console, toggle the "net"-section off and on again (and maybe disable all the other categories for a better overview).
