Two weeks ago my computer had a catastrophic failure and I had to have a new one built, but after downloading firefox, which I have used for many years, onto the new machine, I have found that clicking on links in webpages opens them in the same window!!? I have double checked that "links open in new tab" is checked in options but it just doesn't work. I have disabled any add-ons and still no joy. I read several times people are saying to right click and select from a drop list, it's horribly cumbersome to do that and I have never had to do it in the past. Is there a solution or am I going to have to stop using FF :(

I thought I found the problem, after disabling add-ons one by one, I then moved onto the "themes" I had downloaded, turned out it was one of them that was the issue. But then the problem returned even after disabling the theme in question and reverting to 'default'.

If you have a three-button mouse, use the middle button. You can also right-click the link.
