The profile folder is not where Firefox help says it should be. In fact it's not anywhere.

The first try at adding the image to this problem failed. The second try succeeded however, I no longer have the "details" field accessible to me.

Since you are able to use Firefox, try opening it from inside the browser. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
  • (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table on the page, click the "Show in Finder" button. This should launch a new window directly into your profile folder. Then you can investigate exactly where it is located on disk.

Note that you should look in ~/Library/Application in your Home directory and not in the global Library folder (/Library/Application).

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

"AppData" (XP: Application Data; Mac: ~/Library; Linux: ~/.mozilla) is a hidden folder.
