there are at least 2 problems i have with firefox: 1= to my knowledge, there isn't a menu item for help/support. it seems like i should not have to do an internet search to access mozilla support, but rather have 'help' appear as an icon or at least item on a menu, eg history appears as an item on the menu.

2= i see that firefox history tracks the day that i access a webpage, but really, tracking what minute that happened would be very very helpful to me.

am i missing how to set up either of these? could it just be a built-in feature instead of something a user has to set up? thanks

For #1, there are two ways to access support from the menu, but both lead to this website.

  • on the graphical menu, use the "?" icon at the bottom
  • on the classic menu bar, "Help" is the last menu
    • to display this menu temporarily, tap the Alt key or press F10
    • to make it persistent, use View > Toolbars > Menu Bar, or right-click a blank area of the tab bar (or the "+" button on the tab bar) to display the toolbar list

For #2, you can get more detailed information in the Library dialog, either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+h
  • "Show All History"

Note that Firefox only shows the most recent visit, so if you click a history entry in the Library dialog it will load that site and update the date. Keep your finger off the left mouse button...

There may be add-ons or external applications that allow more detailed research on history if needed.

Firefox stores this data in microsecond resolution: 1442244691175227

If you need to select history or bookmark items in the sidebar then make sure to click to the far left of an item.

Unfortunately Firefox doesn't store the visit date/time to the clipboard if you copy an item (only title and uri). For bookmarks there is a dateAdded and lastModified attribute available.

You probably would have to use the SQLite Manager extension to generate a query to see the date/time in a higher resolution.

SELECT datetime(visit_date/1000000,'unixepoch','localtime') AS visit_date, url, title, visit_count, frecency
FROM moz_places, moz_historyvisits
WHERE moz_places.id = moz_historyvisits.place_id
ORDER BY visit_date DESC, url

Coincidentally, this popped up in a different thread (I haven't tested it myself): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/norwell/
