Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

You said this crash is happening randomly, is there any sort of pattern that you have noticed with it?

Also, can you please type about:support into your address bar, press enter, and copy and paste the data there into this thread? Thanks!

I've escalated this up to our engineers.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

The crash report flagged these programs;

atidxx32.dll = Advanced Micro Devices = http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

atiumdag.dll = ATI Technologies Inc = Radeon DirectX Universal Driver

msmpeg2vdec.dll = Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder

Check for updates for the above. Also,

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

OKay. I'll do these things and i will report back. There is no pattern. Mostly it just says firefox dont answer and then crash. It happens from every 2 min to 10 min. I'd like to add that i downloaded some things from unsecure places. (keygen for a game) but i deleted it already.
