New version of firefox will not block popups.
We have been vary bad problems with popups on Version 37 with Windows 8.1. The same websites do not have a problem with IE. The settings have been checked in options and the systems has passed checks with webroot secure anywhere. Please advise.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I have used MalwareBytes and it excluded a bunch of PUP. Now using Firefox it still redirects but MalwareBytes stops it from going to the popup locations, but it still redirects. How can I stop the redirects as it is very disruptive and isn't happening with Internet Explorer. I have gone into troubleshoot, however with the constant redirect it is hard to see what is real help. I changed from Avast free version to Webroot from Geek Squad last night. I also have Kaspersky available. OS is Windows 8.1. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox twice.
I have tried the trouble shooting links and the reset link times out. There are links all over the pages that say due to recent security issues we are offering a free credit check!!!! I have uninstalled 37 much to my disappointment. I will check back to see other suggestions.
