new tab page as home?
I love the new tab page, can I set that to what I see when I click home? I just tried to set the home page to "browser.newtab.url" (I did not think the browser object could work there but just tried it). It would be great if I could make the defualt home page show on start but when I click the home button I would like "browser.newtab.url". Thanks

Use about:newtab
hello pctechtv, you might want to set the homepage to about:newtab when you want to see the new tab page instead.
when you want to launch the homepage on start of the browser nevertheless try this workaround: right-click the shortcut you're using to open firefox, go to properties > shortcut and at the end of the target line append "about:home" after the path to firefox.exe
browser.newtab.url is the name of the pref that sets the new tab page (i.e. its value matters).
The home page you can set via the Options/Preferences > General tab, so no need to modify prefs here (browser.startup.homepage).
- Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
Note that Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.
