My email account totally disappeared from my PC. When I attempted to log in this morning, Mozilla asked me to start a new account. How may I restore my precious account with all of the important emails that were saved on it?

See if you can recover by replacing the prefs.js file:

Thank you to the person (sfhowes) who reponded to my plea for help in restoring my "lost" email account, BUT I truly do not know how to execute your instruction. Would it be possible to explain the steps as though you were talking to a five year old? I am a tech-challenged senior.
