Thunderbird 115.5.1 Windows 10 When I use the Archive Function in this latest edition of Thunderbird, it does not consistently put my emails where I specify in the settings. As far as I know, this only began occurring in this specific version of Thunderbird.
When an account setting is set to archive to Local Archive > Year by Month, it puts the file in a monthly folder in the Local, but!!! it does not put it into the Archive Folder. Nor does it put the Month folder under the specific year as Thunderbird had done in previous iterations.
But, when the account is set to Archive by Year but not by month, it actually does put it into that Year folder in the Archive folder.
I am pointing out an error in the programming of the Archive feature. If I try to manually move the month folder 2021-02 from Local to Local Archive, I get an error message that "A subfolder with the name already exists"
Is there anything that I can do to fix this on my end?

Some messages get duplicated in my outlook.office365.com Inbox. They both have the same date, time and content.
Deleting them deletes only one of them while the other becomes an empty message marked as received on December 31st 1969 at 7:00 PM.
Quitting and restarting TB make the duplicate / empty message disappear.
While this duplication is not very frequent, maybe 1 in 50, the following behaviour is constant. This has never happened in my Gmail Inbox. The duplicates appear only in TB, not in the Outlook web client. I have been using TB since a week or two.

The printers are brother mfc default. Xerox 3215, save to pdf
From a fresh boot, I can open word, excel, quicken or any other program. These can then print on either the default printer or other printers can be seleted.
Opening thunderbird and trying to print, only shows save to pdf. If you then open any program and try to print you see "no printers installed."
rebooting restores system and normal printing until thunderbird is opened. Some how thunderbird is interfering with the system print functions.

After updating today I appear to have some sort of configuration problem. Two versions are opening at the same time and I can see the original one flash up briefly before being hidden by the second. I close down one but a second is still there. Both have the Welcome to Firefox message in the lower pane but I cannot remove this. It is not linked to a message in the inbox. I have tried everything I can think of and searched the community questions but cannot find anything similar. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it but the problem is still there. I hope this makes sense and would appreciate any advice. I am a 65 year old novice slowly pulling my hair out!

When I press on the trashcan on a message on the message list, sometimes (but quite often, about one out of 3 times) the message is still displayed on the message list. If I click again on the message title, the row is updated with the message below the deleted one. But the rest of the list is not updated, and the message which was below the deleted one, now appears two times. And then if I select the row below, this is updated with the row below this one, but then this message is displayed two times. And so on, every time I click on the message below.
To illustrate the problem, suppose I have the following message list:
Message 1 Message 2 Message 3 Message 4
When I delete the Message 1, the list does not change. If I click again on Message 1, the list changes to:
Message 2 Message 2 Message 3 Message 4
If I click on Message 2 on the 2nd row, the list becomes:
Message 2 Message 3 Message 3 Message 4
Now when I click on Message 3 on the 3rd row, the list becomes:
Message 2 Message 3 Message 4 Message 4
And so on
The message list corrects itself, on two occasions : 1. If I delete the 1st instance of a doubly displayed message 2. If the doubly displayed message is a thread and I expand that thread by clicking on the 1st instance of that thread

I am sending you this request for help since I am unable again to download (pop) my email messages to Thunderbird client on my laptop. I have done nothing to cause this. It happened suddenly today. Last time it happened was on Nov 16: I could not download my emails for over ten days. Then suddenly it downloaded all messages from Nov 16 until today. BUT it stopped downloading again today at 12:52 pm eastern time. Obviously there is a problem with Thunderbird and I desperately need your help. Please check my account and tell me what to do. Why is this happening. I talked to Yahoo Small Business support, they check everything but they determined that the problem is with Thunderbird and they asked me to contact you. I did that when the problem happened on Nov 16. I did not get any support from you then. I hope you will help me this time, please. Do not ask me to resubmit the question again since you already have my question and I followed the steps you gave me.
There might be some suspicious activities that are causing this problem. Please check this. On both days the interruption happened (Nov 16 and today Nov 30), I received multiple emails with the following content. Clearly, these are all suspicious emails. Today I received 7 such messages between 3:44 pm and 4:18 pm. The message says:

I do not believe you sent me these messages and Yahoo Small business did not send these messages either. Someone else did. I suspect these are phishing or scam type attempts. The only difference in the 7 messages sent today was the "From: ", the body of the messages is the same.

Again, the problem is that I cannot download my emails at all. When I click on Get New Messages for smari@arys.org from the Thunderbird File menu, I get the following message is displayed repeatedly: Error with account smari@arys.org. The account smari@arys.org is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages. Although there are no processing going on.
Yahoo Small Business support tried to help but they said the problem is with the Thunderbird side and asked me to contact you. Please check this and let me know if I can do anything to fix this problem once and for all. Thank you.

Thunderbird v.59.2 on Windows Vista desktop. Yup, Vista :-) Cable provider died, so years of emails to addresses using isp-provided email addresses are in Thunderbird but can't use emails.
In short term got TMobile 5G wireless and it is hideous, beware! For now I use my cell as hotspot to get on internet on old desktop.
I'll list what I've tried in a sec, but here's my ultimate goal: I want to get AT&T fiber installed and hooked up on new desktop (Windows 11) and install latest thnder bird there and bring over old files. Before installing at&t I have to formally cancel with former cable provider (it's in an odd limbo). I've assumed it's better to cull all email addresses related to those email accounts before severing all ties.

I can't upgrade to v60 with Vista. I modified advanced config and added strict config Boolean setting and set to false and added check compatibility 59.2 setting and set to false.
The email crawler add on still gives me not compatible error. I restarted Thunderbird and that didn't help, unfortunately.
What can I do?
Again, my two main concerns are 1) harvest email address on my dead email accounts so I can send notifications of my new email addresses and 2) prepare to move all Thunderbird stuff to new desktop once I have working wireless internet to facilitate.

The email address you are sending as must match the email address you used to auth. Please check your SMTP settings. AUP#Out-1500. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.
I contacted Spectrum and received their recommended settings. The only difference I have is that my Authentication is set to NONE and theirs to YES OR CHECKED
My incoming email works fine.

With SuperNova 115.5.1 and all previous versions I've used - after I have viewed/read an email it's sometimes not marked as read. I use the classic view and have duplicated the problem in troubleshooting mode and with different views. This doesn't happen with all emails, just some/a few every day. The situation has gotten better with more recent versions of SuperNova, but it's been a general problem from day 1. Even when I go back and read the email again for a 2nd or 3rd time sometimes it'll still not be shown as read. With real troublesome emails I just manually mark it as read and move on.

After the each of the past few Thunderbird updates (I am not using version 115.5.0) I have found that, when starting Thunderbird, there are tabs for the previously open e-mails, but the tabs are completely blank. There is nothing to indicate what was previously open.
1) Can I recover a list of the e-mails that were previously open? 2) Can this be fixed in future releases so that this information is not lost upon another update?

I've read some articles about the way Thunderbird works with GMail IMAP folders. If I understand well, TB creates a copy of every GMail messages for each assigned label. This means that if a message has 3 labels, TB will copy it 3 times. According to Google storage status, I have about 12 GB for my mails. If multiple copy of messages are done depending on assigned labels (all messages, sent messages, about 20 custom labels, and so on), does it mean that I'd need 50 or 60 GB or more to synchronize my GMail account ?

I am using Thunderbird 115.5.1 (64-bit) on a Mac running Mojave.
I have two problems, one I may have done to myself. First, I need to know what all of the default fields in the Usenet Filters are. I may have deleted one of the default fields. The ones I am seeing are:

There may have been one called "Message" that I deleted and I may or may not have set up myself.
The 2nd problem is being able to filter on the body of the message itself. If I want to search for the string "xyzzy", I see no way to do this. Have I broken something?
I think I figured out partially how to use "Customizable", but Body or Message does not work as a field name.
