I'm not certain exactly when this started happening, but I can not refresh pages by using F5, ctrl-F5, or the refresh button in the address bar. The only thing I can do is enter the URL in a new tab, or click back then forward again. When I refresh by any of the mentioned methods, absolutely nothing happens, it doesn't even attempt to refresh. There is no network activity or visual indicators of a loading process or anything else.

This issue can be caused by the IE Tab extension that shows in the System Detail list next to the question.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

IE Tab indeed appears to have been causing the problem, as disabling it returned things to normal. Thanks!
