Hi, I’m a student working on an assignment to set up an email server from Rocky Linux (server) to Ubuntu (client). I have configured Postfix, Dovecot, IMAP, POP3, SSL, SMTP, and DNS on Rocky.

However, when using Thunderbird on Ubuntu, I get:

"Server powerrangerserver.gogogo.com has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem."

All services are running, and the firewall is not blocking connections, but I cannot figure out why Thunderbird cannot connect.

I have tried all the solution from google to chatgpt. pls do help

A week or so ago my Thunderbird (140.1.0esr) reminder dialog stopped showing up. No idea why. Calendars > properties does have "Show Reminders" checked. Account > Thunderbird Settings > Calendar > Show the reminder dialog (X) is checked. I've restarted and rebooted (Linux).

I can add events to the calendar and they show up on my phone. I did update to 140.1.0 10 days ago, so perhaps this is a problem with this version. I'm considering reverting to the previous 128.9.1esr version, but it would be great if someone had a solution for this.

The time shown in the Date column for TB is 2 hrs earlier than the actual time. The TB error console also displays the wrong time.

TB 128.6.0esr on freebsd-13.4-RELEASE-p5

System time is set to and displays as MDT (US Mountain/Denver) $ date Fri Apr 18 12:29:52 MDT 2025

TB error console: Date() "Fri Apr 18 2025 10:31:04 GMT-0800 (GMT-08:00)"

about:config timezone settings: calendar.timezone.local MST calendar.timezone.recent [] calendar.timezone.useSystemTimezone true mailnews.sender.date_senders_timezone false

Mail headers show proper time in mail file: Received: from mail-yb1-f187.google.com (mail-yb1-f187.google.com [209.85.219.187]) ... for <xxx>; Fri, 18 Apr 2025 11:55:40 -0600 (MDT) Received: by mail-yb1-f187.google.com with SMTP id 3f1490d57ef6-e5740c858besf2902470276.2 ... for <xxx>; Fri, 18 Apr 2025 10:55:39 -0700 (PDT)

And display properly in the TB headers display: Date Fri, 18 Apr 2025 11:55:29 -0600

Yet TB displays 2 hrs earlier in the Date column: 09:55

How to correct? I had set the Calendar timezone manually, but it is now set as above. I tried deleting calendar.timezone.local but it is rewritten when TB exits.

Hello,

I'm running Thunderbird Beta email on two Windows 11 computers, one I7 one I5. The former I notice reports a 32 bit version the smaller machine (latest) a 64bit version.

I wish to know how to update the 32bit to 64bit. Is it a simple matter or likely to lead to a corrupt installation. Perhaps I shouldn't be concerned but now have become aware of the two different versions. Both machines are active with my own accounts as the I5 serves as a backup computer.

I welcome you're advice. (I don't recall being offered a 64 bit version when I installed on the I7 some 6 months ago. Perhaps it wasn't available?)

Kind Regards, Alan from the UK

Been using thunderbird for at least 20 years, and learn to live with the bugs and wait for the next release waiting and expecting the issues of the previous release were solved in the next one.

I've been using S/MIME certificates for many years without problem. I've recently installed a new certificate wich is correctly installed in my personal repository expiring in 2027. Since version 141 this certificates shows as selected, but is not used. Updated to release 142 ... but the problem persists.

I'm attaching a screen capture were shows the error message and the Developers Console showing the exitcode when trying to send a mail with digitally signed.

Please also note (i don´t know if this is related or not) that when y check the certificate in the account the hexadecimal ID of the certificate is not shown. If I clear the certificate and select it again it is shown in this screen. Attached to this you can find a capture of what mentioned before.

Please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks / Regards

I have multiple gmail accounts set up on Thunderbird. They were all working fine until I traveled overseas and came back. Then, all of a sudden, 1 gmail account stopped working. The rest kept working fine. I checked the settings and they were correct. I removed the account and tried to set it up again (about 10 times), but kept getting the same error message: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." The automatic configuration passed and I even tried manually configuring to the recommended settings to no avail.

The only thing I can think of is that when traveling overseas and trying to get online, Thunderbird and/or Gmail asks for further security verification, and I just avoided using Thunderbird altogether while abroad. Upon my return, I started getting this error message. It is extremely inconvenient to have to use the Gmail interface for only 1 email (my main email!). Does anybody know anything I can do to repair this? I'm almost tempted to use another email client altogether to make my life more efficient as the new setup is not sustainable.

Since a problem with my BT email account (hacked) and its restoration I only seem able to sync between the two calendars when the diary entry is ticked as a whole day event. This appears to happen in both directions. In other words try to log an event with start and end times and it does not get synced to the other diary (and visa versa). I also suspect that the times of the two systems are not in sync but cannot find where to check them both. I assume that they both access W11 for the data. Any thoughts much appreciated.

I perform a search using the top search bar looking for a word i.e. 'Messages mentioning:' The search result shows it has found 30 emails. I click on 'Show results as list' and the new tab opens but the list only shows only 26 of the 30. When I compare the 30 with the list of 26, I see that the missing four are consecutive in the date sequence. Going back to the tab that displays the 30, and clicking on the individual messages, I find that the four troublesome messages result in 'No message found'. Going directly to the folder where I know the messages are stored, I can open the four troublesome messages OK.

What should I try next to analyse the problem further?

I have a MacBook Pro with Sequoia 15.6.1 installed. I am reading and sending emails through Thunderbird Eclipse 140.2.0esr (recent update). For a few weeks now I have noticed that the folders in which I was saving my emails are no longer ordered alphabetically. If I change the order manually, for some unknown reason, these changes are not saved once I close Thunderbird. How can I manage this problem? Thanks Chris

I need to migrate from Outlook 2010 to Thunderbird latest version. There are multiple email accounts configured in Outlook and tons emails. This is my wife's system so I don't want to make a mistake doing the conversion.

I intend to use a automated tool if a reliable on exists - paid is fine. I need to get all of the accounts and associated outlook folders moved to tbird. Also need contacts migrated. Some of the Outlook accounts use POP3/SMTP, some use IMAP.

What is/are the best migration tools? Recommendations welcome. What traps do I need to avoid? What is the recovery process if it all goes wrong.

I have 50+ years IT experience and have used tbird for 10 years so I'm not clueless.

Thanks in advance.
