Thunderbird says email server says password incorrect. Checked with provider. They say nothing wrong.
I tried to get into my emails via Thunderbird but am told password is incorrect. Checked with email provider (Empire Access) They say password and settings are OK. Have been able to access their web mail using password. Also, since yesterday have lost Firefox and all my bookmarks. Something is very wrong.

Thunderbird uses the account settings you provided and sends your email address and the password you provided when sending mail. The error you see was returned to thunderbird from the email provider's server. Thunderbird is only a messenger. If you post screenshot of your SMTP server settings pane and also of your incoming server settings pane plus complete text of error message, someone here may have some suggestions to assist you. thank you
