Is it possible to change to the old style of downloads in firefox 20.0?

Since Firefox changed so that downloads are on a button rather than opening in their own window I am constantly forgetting that I am downloading something and closing the program, canceling the download. Is there any way to have a separate download window like in older versions, or at least have a warning that you are stopping a download?
