My entire firefox browser, upon start, will periodically shrink to a very small black cross at the top left of my screen. Does anyone know why?

Periodically my Firefox browser, upon start, will disappear. When this first happened, I thought the browser didn't start. Then, I noticed at the top left hand corner a small black cross. When I move the mouse over it, I get the arrow to open the browser to the size I want. I thought maybe this was an issue with pop-ups, but that didn't explain why it would shrink the entire browser to a black crosshair. I have pop-up blockers turned on.

Try to remove the Firefox plist file (org.mozilla.firefox.plist).

Go to "~/Library/Preferences" and remove the plist file for Firefox (org.mozilla.firefox.plist)

You can also check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.
