browser.tabs.onTop = False Changes icons to white

theoldwizard1

My personal preference is Tabs NOT On Top.

When I change that, the icons inside Firefox (Home, Reload, Stop, etc) change to white.

It is repeatable back and forth.

Are you using the default theme?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Yes, I am using the Default theme.

Of course restarting in Safe Mode disabled all of the other customization I had done (turn on Menu Bar, Navigation Bar, bookmark Bar). Turning them on and setting TabsOnTop to false got me back to an apples-to-apples comparison.

But the icons stayed black/dark gray.

Restarting Firefox (I assume NOT in Safe Mode) and setting TabsOnTop to false again (why did it change ?) and I am back to the same problem.
