I have a number of email accounts in TB. Everyone of them have an archive folder. Most are Gmail accts. All of the Gmail acct archive folders are filling up with random inbox emails that I did not archive. The one none Gmail account is not. My archive folders on Gmail only have the emails I have archived. Why is this happening????

ADD - there are no message filters that move to the archive folder.

The following link might be helpful: Thunderbird and Gmail https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail

Quotation from the above link:

In order to be consistent with Gmail's behavior, Thunderbird archives your message in the All Mail folder, and not in an Archive folder as it does for other accounts...

Another quotation:

All Mail: contains all the messages of your Gmail account, including sent and archived messages. Any messages that you see in the inbox will also appear in the [Gmail]/All Mail folder. (It is recommended to unsubscribe this folder.)

Therefore, the archive folder in Thunderbird may correspond to the All Mail folder in Gmail, which contain all the messages of your Gmail account.
