Been using Thunderbird for a few years. My email ends verizon.net

Thunderbird receives emails but suddenly can't send.

I have checked the server setting for aol and they are exactly correct.

I can send emails directly through aol.com but not through Thunderbird.

What happened and how and I fix it?

What is the error message you see? What is the authentication method you are using? Is your account IMAP or POP?

Most important of all, what version of Thunderbird are you using? Look on the help menu under about to get the version information
