Installing Firefox on Surface Go
When I try to install Firefox, I get Microsoft message saying I have to switch out of S mode,

Just because you cannot go back to "S" does not mean you can't use the Microsoft Store app. That is also included with regular Windows 10. However, I never used the "S" version so I don't know if it has a different selection of apps than regular Windows 10. There probably are reviews and blog posts on various sites about whether to make the switch.

See this article: Windows in S mode won't let me install Firefox.
Message to TyDraniu - thanks for that. But MS says that once I switch out of S mode to enable Firefox installation, I will be unable to return, meaning that I will be unable to access MS apps.

I'm not sure you will lose access to the Microsoft store and its "modern apps." If you have a full version of Windows 10, I think those should work. However, I certainly haven't tried it myself.
Thanks jscher2000, but that's what MS says: no return once switched from S mode. Therefore, no access to MS apps. Query: what would I miss out on?

To TyDraniu - thanks anyway but MS just won't allow you to switch back once you've opted out of S mode. They're not user-friendly toward anyone who wants to do something different, ie, install Firefox. ()
To jscher - thanks anyway but I'll end up giving Surface Go away rather than give in to distasteful right wing Microsoft.
