How can I turn off the flashing effect the page tabs now (in version 57.0) show when a page has loaded? It is highly annoying, a constant distraction.

hi, you can change this when you enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled. double-click it and change its value to false.
