Hello all,

You can change the shockwave plugin via a drop down menu from "always activate" to "ask to activate". THe reason is, that it should prevent movies from autoplay when loading a webpage. Instead you should see a symbol, which you can click and then the video would start. THat's the idea.

Well, after changing the plugin the videos really don't autostart anymore. That is good. But I cannot start them at all. That is bad.

After changing the plugin to "always activate", everything works again. How can I make "ask to activate" work for me?

Other changings to my firefox: Adblock, Adblock popup blocker, Thumbnail Zoom Plus, Better Privacy, Video download helper. No changings in the config and such.

Anyone an idea?

hi samun, if you set flash to "ask-to-activate" you will see a lego like icon in the top left of the address bar on sites which have embedded falsh content. you can click this icon in order to get the flash content on that particular site loaded (either temporarily or always).

With "Ask to Activate", Firefox delays loading Flash. Some sites detect this and assume prematurely you do not have Flash, or the correct version of Flash, or that scripting is disabled. On a site like that, after allowing Flash, you probably need to reload the page. But it shouldn't be too common, or hopefully will go down over time as you save site permissions.

Ah yes, thanks for the answers. I did not know that there was a symbol in the adress field. I just clicked on the symbol IN THE VIDEO. ;)

Problem Solved.
