Why do updating Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader require me to download McAfee a/v s/w? I do not want that s/w. I already have a/v s/w that I like.

I am getting the message that I need to update both Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Reader. However, they both require me to download McAfee a/v s/w, and I do not want McAfee. I have my own a/v s/w. How can I get around this?

Adobe's download page has a checkbox to decline McAfee. In another thread, a user said that section of the page is blocked by Adblock Plus.
