It seems most likely that Google is using a cookie to recognize you. That would not surprise me, as many sites use cookies for that purpose. You can block individual sites from storing cookies, or have them expire when you shut down and restart Firefox in a new session.
While viewing any page on Google.com, call up the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog using any of these:
- right-click the page > View Page Info > Permissions
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
- click the padlock or globe icon to the left of the site address > More Information > Permissions
Scroll down and find the "Set Cookies" permission, uncheck the box to use the default, and select "Allow for Session" instead of "Allow".
Note: Unfortunately, as a side effect, the annoying blue bar also will reappear every time you use Google search.
Firefox also has two different kinds of form memory: logins and everything else.
(1) With the change in Gmail from a standard username + password form to showing just the username, saved logins are probably not relevant here. But you might double-check the Saved Passwords list just in case. You can review and remove saved logins here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security > "Saved Passwords" button
(2) Other fields may be saved in form history. This normally would not be filled in automatically, but would appear in a list that drops down from the field when you click or type in it.
This feature can be disabled on on the Privacy panel of Options using the checkbox for "Remember search and form history":
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
If the panel says "Firefox will: Remember history" switch it to "Use custom settings for history" to reveal the checkbox
Unlike saved passwords, Firefox does not have a built-in editor for form autocomplete entries, and also does not have a site-specific block for saving form entries. Unfortunately, it's all or nothing.
You can remove the saved form entry when it appears below a form field using the keyboard: press the down arrow to select it and then the Delete key. But it may be saved again.
There are some add-ons to clean up previously saved form autocomplete entries, and perhaps even to block saving for certain sites, such as:

Hello!
That would require Firefox erasing all your history and cookies when you exit out. To do this please look at the image I attached:
Settings for History to delete each time: http://prntscr.com/79b0qs
To access these settings in your URL bar enter about:preferences#privacy
This will clear history for your Firefox each time you exit out of the browser so it will affect YouTube, Gmail and any other site.

Hi Microrobot, setting the Privacy option to "Never Remember History" will set Firefox to use automatic private browsing, which probably is too drastic for most users. A better first step would be to customize the options and only go to automatic private browsing if all else fails.
Hi DPro, I should have mentioned that a "session" may extend indefinitely if you have Firefox set to restore previous windows and tabs. To expire the session for secure sites with this setting, you can modify this hidden preference:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level preference and change it from the default of 0 (keep cookies for all sites) to 1 (keep cookies for non-HTTPS sites). FYI, setting it to 2 doesn't keep cookies for any sites in your automatic-resume session history.
(4) Review the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred preference to make sure it is consistent with your security preferences. The default value is This is the rule for when Firefox is NOT set to restore your windows and tabs automatically at startup, but you choose to restore them using History > Restore Previous Session. The default value is 1 (keep cookies for non-HTTPS sites).
Please be cautious in editing other sessionstore settings to avoid breaking this feature.
Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
- click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
- highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key - press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": "Remember search and form history"
