This feature is experimental and is being introduced to the Firefox user base through a progressive rollout. It may not yet be available to all users. Additionally, remote improvements must be enabled.
Firefox for Android includes a built-in VPN feature that helps protect your privacy by routing Firefox traffic through a secure proxy server and masking your IP address.
The built-in VPN is being introduced to the Firefox user base in stages, through a progressive rollout. For more information, see Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox. It may not be available to you yet, even if you’re in one of these locations, as the staged rollout takes time to reach everyone. Additionally, remote improvements must be enabled.
The feature includes a monthly data limit of 50 GB. Firefox will notify you when you are approaching the limit.
Unlike Mozilla VPN, which protects your entire device, the built-in VPN protects only traffic within Firefox on your Android device. It is free to use and does not require a subscription.
To use the feature, sign in with a Mozilla account. If your device is eligible, you’ll see prompts in Firefox to set up VPN.
