I'm trying to log in to my university email account. However, every time I enter my information, it goes to "successful login" in the tab for a split second while it's loading, but then it just takes me right back to a blank login page. It seems to be stuck at the point when it should log me in. It works in internet explorer and firefox on other computers. This one website is the only one that is stuck. I did not change any settings or download anything between a successful login and this this stuck loop. I have cleared all of my cookies multiple times and have disabled all of my plugins and extensions. Nothing works.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that aren't send or otherwise blocked.

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder

Also make sure that your security software isn't blocking cookies.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I did create a new profile, and it does work in that, but I'd like to go back to being able to use my old profile since all my settings are saved on it. I deleted all my cookies several times and from every place I could find (I *think* I deleted the cookiesqulite thing already), but I will try the renaming trick to see if that works...

Did you check for problems caused by extensions?

Yes, I disabled all plugins and extensions, then tried enabling them one by one. It didn't change anything.

I also tried to rename the folder, but it didn't change anything. There are a few folders with variations on cookie.sqlite, but it won't let me rename them with firefox open, and they disappear when I close firefox.
