F5 no longer works (linux)

What is the latest version you are using? Are you using esr or release or beta etc? The latest version is different depending upon what channel you are using. So I need the version number.

Where did you get Thunderbird ? Eg: Snap, Flatpak, or from official webpage: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/all/

Check settings:

• In Settings > General
• Scroll down to 'Reading & Display' - sub section 'Message reader style'
• Select: 'Show dark message mode toggle'

Message List -

• select an email so it opens in Message Pane
• In Message Header -
• click on 'More' and select 'Customise'
• At the bottom should be an option 'Show the dark message mode toggle' - select it.

Q: Does that 'toggle' display in Message Header ? Q: Do you see toggle but it does not work ? If it displays but cannot toggle or you can toggle but it fails to use dark mode - Upload an image to show us.

OR are you talking about the Thunderbird dark theme in 'Add-ons and Themes' > 'Themes' ? Post image showing the themes listed so we can see what is selected and what is available.

Are you using 'Unified Folders' mode ? If yes, does it work if switch off 'View' > 'Folders' > 'Unified Folders' and use only the default 'All Folders' mode?

Are you only using Pop accounts which are set up as deferred accounts that use the Global Inbox Local Folders ?

Do you use any Addon extensions ?

Please test in Troubleshoot Mode' In Thunderbird

• 'Help' > 'Troubleshoot mode'
• Click on 'Restart'
• select 'Continue in Troubleshoot mode'

Does F5 now work ?

Hi the version of Thunderbird is 153.0esr and is updated through system updates. These options have simply disappeared in this update. The operating system is set to dark mode. Prior to the update the Thunderbird Screen was in dark mode. In settings general etc. Enable dark message mode is ticked. This is not dark theme in addons. Not talking about dark theme in message header but the whole of Thunderbird. Concerning F5, when shift f5 is pressed checking mail (looking up folders) does not appear. Not to worry too much, I can live without it. Thanks, Peter.
