Why won't Hulu let me log in unless I clear all app data every time

I checked with Hulu and they don't know what's going on. I only am having issues logging into Hulu with firefox and I can manage to log in just fine if i clear all app data prior. If I use firefox exclusively for Hulu, I have no issues, but once i have saved passwords / bookmarks or anything else anywhere else, I get logged out of Hulu and can't log back in. Upon entering my info I seem to log in for a second (it pops up asking which profile i want to use) and then the screen seems to quickly refresh and in the upper right hand corner it once again is asking me to Log In. A friend suggested that there is possibly a corrupt registry file. I've re-installed twice but I'm sure there are files that aren't getting removed.

How are you clearing all the data for Firefox? It sounds pretty extreme if you are losing your bookmarks!

You might consider using Hulu in a private browsing window. By default, that window will not use any cookies or cache from your regular browsing windows; it will seem like a fresh start as far as the website is concerned.

You can launch a new private window using either:

  • right-click a link to Hulu > Open Link in New Private Window
  • right-click a bookmark to Hulu > Open in a New Private Window
  • launch a new private window from the menu or using Ctrl+Shift+p and then go to Hulu in that window

Does that work?

Interestingly enough, using a private window does allow me to log in. So that's a simple solution for the time being, thank you. I am still curious why it is doing this overall though. Hulu support is clueless. As for the method by which i'm clearing all the data for it to work, i do the search %appdata%, enter the roaming folder, and delete the mozilla folder. After which, every time, 0 issues (till i even do so much as go to facebook)

I'm not sure what's going on with your Hulu that it demands the web browsing equivalent of monogamy. Maybe someone else will have the same issue and chime in.

I certainly hope so. At first I thought perhaps a corrupted registry file of some sort, but since private browsing works then it does seem like a cache issue. I have no idea why

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.3 with a Full Version Installer

Sadly this did not do the trick. I was optimistic. I closed out of the browser after logging into hulu, facebook, and netflix... reopened the browser and went to hulu.com and saw i was still logged in. as soon as i clicked to watch something, it refreshed and i was no longer logged in and the problem started all over again. It is truly baffling. But again, opening a private window seems to let me log in and watch things.

Create a new profile as a TEST to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

The results were no different. Able to log in just fine if i went straight to hulu but once i use firefox for anything else (even on the new profile) I can no longer log in. Only somewhat of a solution so far has been the private window. This has me baffled
