I was looking at older posts related to this, and you may have to install an older version of firefox.

"If you need to access data stored in the previous Sync version that used the recovery key then you will have to temporarily install a Firefox 28 version.

Also you might have to upgrade your Sync account to use the new Sync server.

derJOE.

Don't do anything just yet! We need a few answers from you before recommending how you should proceed.

  1. Do you have any other devices connected to that Sync account? If not, you were / are using Sync incorrectly, It was not intended to be a "cloud" for backup purposes.
  2. Did you update your Sync account after Firefox 29 [with the new version of Sync] was released?
  3. When you were having a problem with the login page for Firefox Accounts, did you reset your password or request a new password? If so, you data was wiped from the Sync server [as explained in the warning message].
  4. You said all email-adresses are "wrong" (says the login page). but it must have been one of mine... - how many times did you try? And did you wait between attempts to login - like after 3 or 5 attempts? I have seen posted here that after X number of failed login attrempts, you have to wait a set period off time before trying again - IIRC, it's like 30 minutes. That is a security feature.

The 1.5 version of Sync does not use the old Recovery Key / Sync Key. It is a hidden implementation based upon the username and password for the account.
