I keep hitting sites where menus and selection boxes turn into unreadable Wing Dings? On W11 and cleared and rest the font cache in Windows and still repeatedly seeing the issue?

I am using Firefox 125 in Windows 11. And this just happens recently.

Sometimes, quite frequently, when I click the addressbar wanting to input or select a new address. The Firefox UI freezes (before the dropdown list of addresses is shown). The video/audio/other effects are still working, and from task manager, it does not cost more CPU/mem than usual. But it does not response to key press or mouse action. All I can do (that I know of) is killing the processes. The problem does not seem related to "current" webpage I am browsing. And I have not installed new addons for a few months.

Any idea what should I look into?

hi the translate fucion in firefox is vry usefull, but i want to NOT TRANSLATE ANYTHING EXCEPT sites i select only

i.e. surfing around german site.. .leave it german, but i if i am interest in "german.de/talkshow" select it and translate only this

i see option to translate EVERYTHING and use some exception, but its the opposite of what looking for

I'm trying to determine if I'm having a Firefox issue or not. I've been using Firefox for many years and frequently use private windows.

I've got a new laptop with Windows 11 and have been noticing that my private windows are sometimes closing unexpectedly. After which, I can't get my tabs back. This has only happened with private windows, and not regular windows.

Is this an issue that's being reported in the community? Thanks.

Need help figuring out why Firefox has a memory leak after an extended use of Firefox browsing. Don't know if its the result of an extension having this issue, or if its a Firefox bug. This is almost surely a "security" or "privacy" design, but it's an error. In Firefox - only (this works fine in Chrome) - if I open the LastPass Firefox Extension, find a Site, and Copy the password, then go directly to an open AnyDesk remote access connection, and Paste (or, lightning bolt menu, Insert from Clipboard), what gets pasted is a single wrong character, NOT the password that IS in the clipboard. (If I paste instead into e.g. a local Notepad window, the actual password gets pasted). I asked AnyDesk support about this, and they confirmed that it's something that Firefox is doing. It shouldn't. Copy is copy. Paste is paste. Why would Firefox do something so that copied text (which just happens to be a password from a password vault extension) pastes wrong when the destination just happens to be a remote desktop client (AnyDesk) to send the password through to complete a login at the remote end? Anyway, how to turn off this wrong behaviour? thank you. (Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit, 23H2, Firefox current - 125.something today, but this has been going on for some weeks at least, AnyDesk version 8 current)

I have used firefox for years as my browser with my home page set to google. I have always had a bookmarks toolbar but never a bookmarks side bar and do not want one. The other day a bookmarks side bar suddenly appeared. I have moved it from left side to right side and can delete it temporarily by using CTRL +B, but can't find a way to permanently remove it, i.e. make the default setting so that the side bar doesn't appear. can you help?

I deleted the old user names and passwords associated with my bank account. Now I can no longer login to my bank acct using Firefox. Only with another browser.

I tried to uninstall then reinstall Firefox but the problem continues. What to do now to login to my bank account?

There's also no way to add an exception? Just completely broken at the moment. I have to disable OCSP stapling to get it to work at all, which is less then ideal.

Currently using 125.0.3 (64-bit). I checked for newer versions of firefox and it's not saying anything. Chrome and Edge work fine. Encountered this on an android tablet with firefox, and went to desktop and hit the same thing.

I choose a new theme. After a while, I close Firefox. When I start Firefox again, my chosen theme appears briefly, then the default theme replaces it. Why? FYI: it doesn't happen with just one theme.

The file icons on by desktop were always the standard color but now the are blue and white why did this happen. I know I can change each one back individually but how can I change them in mass.

Hello, I'm looking for a way to add a shortcut, similar to:

CTRL + Click = open link in new tab SHIFT + Click = open link in new window

What I want it to do is open a link in a Private mode window, to avoid having to open the right-click menu.

I came across this person asking for something similar (they specifically want the private window to not appear on top, I do not care if it gets automatically focused or not) https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1317416

The only answer links to a list of "command line options" and points to the private ones. I understand how you can use these to change how the Firefox shortcut behaves, or to open Firefox in a specific way from the "Run" command, but I do not know how, or if it is even possible to apply these settings to a specific shortcut-click combination.

I've had this issue ever since switching to a new laptop. This issue is specifically within Firefox (I have tested this in other browsers and programs, and the issue isn't there. Everything else works perfectly fine!)

Essentially, whenever Firefox plays multiple sounds at the same time (for example, I use both youtube and discord in-browser) the second sound will briefly mute the other sound. (Going back to the discord-youtube example, if I am watching a youtube video and recieve a discord notification, the youtube video will pause for about half a second.) Or if a site has background audio but also plays a short audio clip when certain elements are clicked, for example, it will cause this "overlapping" issue. Again, this issue is only within Firefox.

I am using Windows 11 if that helps. I've already tried using a Firefox Refresh and peeking in about:config but I'm totally lost as to what I can try next, since I can't find any other examples of people with this issue online. Sometimes the issue briefly fixes itself but then reappears.
