I am building a website and for the first time I am noticing that the layout is showing ghost-edges and repeats of elements on the page as I am scrolling down. Sure, I have turned of the "Use Graphic Acceleration..." option, but I can tell every visitor to do this when visiting the site. What am I doing wrong and what are my options?

Any commentary, advise or suggestion is welcomed!

We have been experiencing a problem with our reductive navigation on pokershop.com. This is the filtered navigation on the left side of the screen when you are looking at any of the main categories. This is used to help narrow the shopping options for people so that they can more easily find what they want. We didn't change anything on our end regarding the navigation. Honestly, we haven't changed any of that coding in a couple years. We've tried finding a way to fix it going through our programmer and web host and have not been successful. At this juncture, I'm reaching out to you to see if there is anything you can help us with. We've gone through our coding line by line (the problem was replicated on a sister website, bingoshop.com) and we have not been able to find an error, the reductive navigation simply stopped working. Please, help.

Our hospital EHR software has a feature that will display the text of a nurses note when a button is clicked in the documents library for the patient. When the button is pressed using FireFox, the window appears, the text appears for a split second and then the box is blank. This feature works well in IE 10 & 11, also in G Chrome and in all browsers the window displays 'about:blank' in the address line. Many of our users (me included) prefer FF and if this issue can be resolved, it would be a real help. I've tried various things recommended by others online; safe mode testing (Neg), clearing cache (Neg), displaying the details window in a tab (Neg).

Working on implementing/fixing the accessibility features of my client's website, we stumbled on the particular case that Firefox decides to set focus to an <iframe> when tabbing through a page, which no other browser does. The client then suggested that the <iframe> content be given a title attribute (in the <head> of the loaded HTML) so that the Voiceover feature (and its equivalents) reads the <iframe> title out loud.

This should work, however the browser keeps saying "Firefox busy" no matter what we tab onto.

What would cause this situation? We would appreciate some guidance, in order to see if we need to change something in our content, or if this is an issue with Firefox itself. Thanks in advance.

Some people say just change browsers but I prefer Firefox on all devices...

We have just changed over 5 websites to SSL certs. Only one needed to be registered with the www.

This one site needed some code work to have old links from before the SSL properly access the site. It works now on other browsers, but after clearing cashe + AND refreshing MF AND restarting computer - MF still says this site is unsecured when access is attempted for example from http://realstreamline.com or similarly to mid site pages.

MF needs to work for this so I am posting a first question to this forum. Thanks for your insight!!

I have a question regarding PWA support on Firefox desktop. I am not sure how to frame this correctly, but I hope I am able to list the problem statement.

Basically, I plan to migrate my existing mobile and desktop website to single PWA based responsive website. Right now, I have mobile website which is a PWA, and a desktop website. Goal is to have a single PWA based responsive website for both mobile and desktop platform. However, I want to make sure the proposed website will work with Firefox desktop. From what I could find Firefox doesn't support option to install PWA as an app with it's own shortcut as it is possible in Chrome. But I want to make sure it supports rest of the features of PWA, and website still works correctly in terms of UI and experience as in case when it is accessed from Chrome browser.

Appreciate a response on this. In case you require more clarity on the problem statement, do let me know.

We are using non-persistent desktops for a portion of our users and their primary web browser is Firefox, so I have attempted to customize their experience using the mozilla.cfg file which I have created. This mostly works however the very first time it opens the bookmarks I have added to the bookmarks bar fail to load. If they close firefox and re-open they come right up. Unfortunately every time they log into their virtual workstation they have top go through this process since the machine is non-persistent. The code I have used to add the bookmarks is as follows:

try {
var ios = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/network/io-service;1"].getService(Components.interfaces.nsIIOService);
var uri = ios.newURI("https://localhost:61000", null, null);
var navBookmarksService = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/browser/nav-bookmarks-service;1"].getService(Components.interfaces.nsINavBookmarksService);
if (!navBookmarksService.isBookmarked(uri)) {
navBookmarksService.insertBookmark(navBookmarksService.toolbarFolder, uri, navBookmarksService.DEFAULT_INDEX, "Add X");
}
} catch(e) {displayError("firefox.cfg", e);}

Like I said, it works, I just need it to work the first time, not the second.

Any ideas?

Hi @LL,

I am a webdesigner and my work is to realize a webbased processcontrolling system in my company. I started programming my sites for Chrome, based on the android tablets i will use in future. Today we are working with 2 Android tablets but about 40 more are following. For processplaning we have another tool which based on firefox, programmed a few year earlier. Now we get some handlingproblems with handling 2 browsers in our company, so i decided to change my site for firefox.

My problem is now, that firefox is the only browser which means to put all my tablecells in one cell. That sounds crazy. Other browsers dont do that. They showing all correctly. I have to say, that firefox just drops tablecells together which i am using for show a progressview. In this cells iam showing a value in percent with a percent based backgroundcolor. This cell get the color over a special id. The rest happens in CSS.

My table is correct, i am starting and ending the table, all rows and all cells with the right tags.

any ideas? i realy have to figure that out !!!

Here is the CSS for my table and below the css for my cellbased color: (just one color, the rest ids for the color formating are the same)

.CSSTableGenerator { margin-left:10px; margin-top:-10px; padding:0px; width:99%; height:93.0%; overflow-y:scroll; } .CSSTableGenerator thead{ width:970px;

       line-height:30px;

} .CSSTableGenerator table{

       border-collapse: collapse;
       border-spacing: 0;

width:100%; height:auto; margin:0px;padding:0px; /*line-height: 30px;*/ } .CSSTableGenerator tr:nth-child(odd){ background-color:#cccccc; } .CSSTableGenerator tr:nth-child(even) { background-color:#e2e2e2; } .CSSTableGenerator td{vertical-align:middle; border:1px solid #ffffff; border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; text-align:center; padding:5px;

   empty-cells: show;

font-size:12px; font-family:Arial; font-weight:bold; color:#000000; line-height:30px; }.CSSTableGenerator tr:last-child td{ border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; }.CSSTableGenerator tr td:last-child{ border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; }.CSSTableGenerator tr:last-child td:last-child{ border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; } .CSSTableGenerator tr:first-child th{ background-color:#3366ff; border:1px solid #ffffff; text-align:center; border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; font-size:16px; font-family:Arial; font-weight:bold; color:#ffffff; } .CSSTableGenerator tr:first-child th:first-child{ border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; } .CSSTableGenerator tr:first-child th:last-child{

border-width:1px 1px 1px 1px; } .CSSTableGenerator2 { margin-left:10px; margin-top:+5px; padding:0px; width:97.5%;

   height:auto;

max-height:77.5%;

overflow-x:hidden;

   overflow-y:auto;
   line-height: 30px;

}

cellbased color CSS:

  1. progress-level4 {
  background-color: #EEE713;
  background-size: 100% 100%;
  border-radius: 20px 0px 0px 20px; /* change me */
  box-shadow: 0 2px 9px rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.3) inset, 0 -2px 6px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4) inset;
  display: block;
  height: 100%;
  overflow: hidden;
  position: relative;

}

sorry for that bad transformation of CSS, but that happens just in this view, if i am trying to edit this question all looks nice...

A complex website I created suddenly has multiple Windows Mozilla users complaining that the font size is smaller in Web forms. They've sent me screen shots and it's true. They say this occurred around Wednesday August 19, 2015.

No changes have been made to the website. There are a production and a test website and the problem exists in both places. The problem exists only on Mozilla on Windows, and multiple individual users have experienced it.

I have verified the font looks smaller on Mozilla. There is no such problem in Google Chrome.

Did an automatic update perhaps change the default font size? Possibly only the font size inside Web form fields?

Well, I recently noticed it while making a site for one of my clients. You know when you're structuring the front-end output to be more organized and you use tabs to space it on the doc? The problem is that Firefox recognize these structuring tabs as a space which leads to breaking the page and the only way around it is to not structure your front-end output, which then produce a very unorganized code - which ultimately makes it difficult to maintain.

Will this be fix any time in the near future? I know that even if it will be fixed, this will still exist in older versions of Firefox so I still wont be able to structure it the way I need to.

This usually happens for grids and certain elements, in the condition they are positioned inside a container like the below example:

< style >
#wrapper {
 width:1000px;
}

#block-one {
 width:60%;
}

#block-two {
 width:40%;
}
< /style >

< div id="wrapper" >
    < div id="block-one" >< /div >
    < div id="block-two" >< /div >
< /div >

When child elements expected to use the entire space of the parent, the spaces are noticed more and because of those spaces - the child elements breaks as if #block-one is say width 61%, then #block-two (40%) is too big to fit there so it will be displayed below #block-one.

Not sure I explained it in an understandable way but hope you got what I'm trying to say.

I run ecommerce site, which was using standard ‘Positive SSL’ using the following SSLCipherSuite ALL:!ADH:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+SSLv2:+EXP.

I’ve not had a problem with Firefox users accessing the site, but today, I removed the Positive SSL cert and replaced it with a ‘Positive Wildcard SSL’

The site is fine with other browsers but when testing on Firefox (no other changes made) I get the following error: --- Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.sussexcookers.com. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap) The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. --- Now I’m obviously the site owner – and I suspect I will be contacted by my users shortly! So I want to address this problem for them. So any help is appreciated!

Now I concluded that – after performing clean install of Firefox on test machine, that the problem is related to SSLCipherSuite, I tried implementing a number of CipherSuites which corrected the problem on test machine, but doesn’t fix the problem for customers who have already visited the site and are returning. The problem is still present on my main development machine and second test machine I use. I’m currently running the following CipherSuite as specified by the Wiki: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Server_Side_TLS ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:DHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES128-GCM-SHA256:kEDH+AESGCM:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:DHE-DSS-AES128-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA256:DHE-DSS-AES256-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:ECDHE-ECDSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:AES128-GCM-SHA256:AES256-GCM-SHA384:AES128-SHA256:AES256-SHA256:AES128-SHA:AES256-SHA:AES:CAMELLIA:DES-CBC3-SHA:!aNULL:!eNULL:!EXPORT:!DES:!RC4:!MD5:!PSK:!aECDH:!EDH-DSS-DES-CBC3-SHA:!EDH-RSA-DES-CBC3-SHA:!KRB5-DES-CBC3-SHA

Is this a bug or is there setting I need to change to address this problem. At the moment I fear that anyone who as viewed my site in Firefox prior the certificate change won’t be able to view the site with the new certificate unless they re-install Firefox or rinse the certificate database. Which is not viable steps for my average customer.

Any help or advice would be super appreciated thanks!
