Today I noticed that typing characters with accents like á, ã, â, etc. doesn't seem to work at all from firefox, they all end up ignoring the dead key and just typing the letter itself. It can render them just fine and I can paste them from another app normally too, but actually typing them is impossible from firefox.

After trying to troubleshoot, I eventually found out a few things: - iBus is not at fault, since it works in every other app and I even restarted it, but the problem persists - This only happens in my main profile, newly created profiles don't have that problem - The problem still happens on troubleshoot mode (as long as it is my main profile) - Compose key also doesn't work (I don't want to use compose key anyway, because my keyboard has specialized dead keys, but I at least tried it)

I suspect the problem lies in a setting on about:config that's different from newly created profiles, but I have no idea which and Ctrl+F searching this site doesn't show any relevant configuration that might be the culprit.

No sure if this is the right topic. When I search something and go to the tab section, all the news sources are redirected from MSN. I don't want to see MSN holding the article from a legit news source, I want to click the news article it comes from. I hate MSN, I just want to access the news from the original sources. How do I fix it so I get news sources that originally hold the articles?

This is such an irritation I will be forced to find a new search engine if this is not fixable.

Any help would be appreciated-- especially if you are able to walk me through the steps or provide me a link to a specific source as I don't know much about settings etc.

This isn't the first time this has happened. After each occurrence, I have to completely uninstall the browser and reinstall it from scratch. This means I have to reopen all my tabs, which is very annoying. In Chrome, I have had a large number of tabs open for many years and it works fine.

With Mozilla, something terrible is happening... I have many tabs open in Mozilla, and there comes a moment when, upon launching the browser and opening two or three tabs, Mozilla starts consuming up to 10 gigabytes of RAM. If I open a few more tabs, the browser crashes. I don't need to open 50 or 100 tabs, just 7-8-10 tabs are enough to make the browser crash. Moreover, if I open a new tab and go to google.com, the browser takes a very long time to load, even if it's the second tab.

This problem has happened before. I don't do anything with the browser, just visit sites like YouTube.

Clearing the cache and other recommended actions do not yield positive results. This is very annoying. Mozilla is my first and favorite browser, which I have been using for almost 20 years. I wouldn't want to uninstall Mozilla.

For some time now, I've been experiencing the following issues with PiP:

• The floating window opens in a random (and annoying) place and does not place itself automatically on the lower right corner as it used to (where I always move it, so it has no memory as it used to)
• It's impossible to keep the "always on top" mode on by default, and I have to do it every single time
• When I toggle windows, the PiP window is always the next one, even when it was not the one I switched from, and I have to always toggle twice for switching between two windows when I have a 3rd PiP window
• When I change language using the keyboard shortcut, it changes the language on the PiP window, and I have to use the language icon bar. Then, the PiP window becomes activated, and I have to toggle back to the window I was working on before (on which I wanted to change language). I have the "separate languages for separate windows" option activated.

It's been some months now, and all those things were working before an update but never came back...

Does anyone know if there's a way of fixing these issues? I've tried things I found online but nothing seems to work.

When attempting to load a number of different web pages such as Quickbooks Online Apps, the page displays "Loading Apps..." with a spinning wheel, but never redirects to the Apps page; the site hangs forever. On other browsers there are no issues; it eventually switches to the correct page. In Firefox Browser I have tried adding exceptions in Settings --> Privacy & Security --> Manage Exceptions. No change. Thoughts?

I use google as my default firefox home page on my HP laptop. recently a second tab opens at the same time. "how to set the home page" --I've tried closing it and restarting the laptop, but it continues to pop up every time I open firefox as a 2nd tab. I am/was happy with my homepage opening to google. I have firefox updates set to auto. But I want them to load updates when im not using the browser. What currently happens is I open the browser only to get shanghaid by the update process. I dont want that. when I open the browser I want to go straight to what i am doing. I dont want to have to sit there and wait while the browser updates. If it did updates once a month or less it wouldnt be such an issue but the damn browser is updating every few days or even every day and it always wants to do it when I want to do my own work. IS there not a way for the browser to update while im asleep at 3 am? When Im not wanting to use it. Its so irritating. It causes me to not bother with updates. I dont want to comply. When IM given a choice for any updating I set updates to install in the early hours when Im not inconvenienced by it. How can I do this with firefox?

My yahoo homepage on firefox looks totally different than it did last week. Chrome and edge still look like the home page should but firefox does not. I screen shared with yahoo and they said it was a firefox issue. Anyone know how to make the homepage look like chromes and edge? I added pics from edge and firefox for comparison.

With the exception of the Home and Catalog pages in the yotsuba theme, all boards default to black and only on Firefox, not Safari or Chrome browsers.

I use a MacBook AIr with OS 14.4.1 (Sonoma) and want to add a short cut link to Proton Mail (Free version) that I can put in my MacOS Dock. I am using Firefox 125.03 version.

I used to have a link in my Mac Dock but then I tried the trial of their desktop app-- and when that ended recently, I did not know how to set the Dock link up again. I tried directions for other browsers but they did not help.

'The link I want the short cut to go to is' https://account.proton.me/mail so I can sign right in to check my email.

So I checked Proton's support site for help but it has directions to do this ONLY from Safari and another browser, NOT Firefox.

If you can give me some straightforward directions to add the shortcut to Proton Mail sign in back to my Mac Dock, I would be grateful!

I keep getting this message that pops up in a private window to restart to keep using firefox. Everytime I click restart Firefox, it closes my tabs and opens them again. However, 5 minutes later the window pops up again. Even after repeated attempts of updating, even doing a full restart on the computer, Firefox continues to send this window to me. The private window in the bar says about:restartrequired.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox with a fresh install as well as doing a Refresh of Firefox. Neither seem to solve this problem.

I post or write something on my homepage. I then want to share my post to groups I belong to. I hit the share button and get this new and poorly designed response to share. I go to the 'group' share icon. It then lists the groups I'm a member of. So far so good. I then click on one of my groups that I want to share the post with. I get a response, like previously before this new change, allowing to write something to the group along with the post/image I want to share. But there is no 'share' button that allows me to share the post. When this hideous new change came into effect there was a sliver of blue at the bottom, obviously from the share button, and clicking on this allowed me to share my post. Unfortunately, the next day when I attempted to share my post, the blue sliver disappeared and there was no way I could share it to a group. For some reason I cannot take a screenshot of what I'm writing about. Your thoughts?

Since upgrading to the last version, 125.0.3 I'm getting tab crashes. Is there any way to go to a previous version? I have not had any issues with the websites I'm visiting until this new version of Firefox.

I'm trying to determine if I'm having a Firefox issue or not. I've been using Firefox for many years and frequently use private windows.

I've got a new laptop with Windows 11 and have been noticing that my private windows are sometimes closing unexpectedly. After which, I can't get my tabs back. This has only happened with private windows, and not regular windows.

Is this an issue that's being reported in the community? Thanks.

I have read through the user threads and tried everything I could find including malware searching and, of course, setting google as my search preference but no matter what I try the splash page for Firefox (re-installed twice) is Yahoo. Has anyone found a cure for this issue on their Mac - my Mac parameters are in the attached screenshot.

The file icons on by desktop were always the standard color but now the are blue and white why did this happen. I know I can change each one back individually but how can I change them in mass.

after updating newest the version of Firefox the option to" restore previous windows opened " does not work. Is there a work around when I close my browser and then reopen the browser so that all the tabs that I had opened before closing my browser return as if I never left?I went into my setting and have the "open previous tabs" is checked.
