Firefox3.6.18, running on WinXP (all the Microsoft patches), opens with a single tab. Clicking the Add Tab "+" or pressing CTRL T does not open a new tab, although I can open a new window. Also, when exiting from Firefox, my tab location is not saved.

Having upgraded to the latest Firefox, I find that my "weather bug" is not longer available, Why ?. Also, I could not access the help programme until some told me you have to press F10 to do so. These Firefox updates leave a lot to be desired with regards to information. Are they being rushed through without too much thought. Neil Hague.

Excuse me, but my Firefox 3.6 just randomly stopped working. It won't let me browse the Internet anymore-- the error message it always gives me is "Unable to connect", even though I'm fully connected to the Internet. Earlier I opened up Safari and Internet Explorer 9-- both, in which, let me browse the Internet, and I had a full connection. But, whenever I use Firefox now, it says "Unable to connect". And every time I type in a URL on it, Firefox gives me the SAME error message. I don't know what to do now. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it does the same thing. So now I am stuck with using Safari, when I really wanna use my Firefox. Why is it doing this?

I have a client that is not allowed to upgrade due to their company policies. They have come across a section of javascript that is not supported and I need to install 3.0 in order to find a solution for them.

Where can I download Firefox 3.0?

I would just like to be able to continue using my Version 3.6.18 for a while as I experiment with and become familiar with Firefox 5 before making a decision to upgrade. Would keeping the 2 separate versions lead to problems? Current system is Windows 7SP1 edit

I have updated java to version 6-update 26,updated Avast antivirus version 6.0.1203 and windows updates KB915597,KB2545698,KB2541763, in the past 24 hours and just realized no status bar. I have restarted firefox and windows a couple of times but still no status bar.Any suggestions? Thanks

With an address displayed in the location bar, the only way I can go to that address is by clicking on the green right-arrow. This is a major annoyance. I used to be able to just hit ENTER to go there. As I start to type an address, the location bar displays suggested sites. I select a site and hit enter. The site displays. I hit enter again. Nothing happens. Firefox won't go to the site. I'm running Firefox 3.6.18. I tried 4.0, but didn't like the interface nor could I customize it, so I went back to 3.6.

I have a four-line toolbar. The fourth line is completely empty, so I'd like to remove it. I tried right-clicking to pull up a menu, but nothing appears. How can I remove this empty line? The empty line appeared just now after I disabled a Bing toolbar. I probably will eventually uninstall the Bing toolbar, but I hope the empty line is not there until I do that. Thanks much.

Firefox said Adobe Flash Player has crashed. When I clicked on Firefox's Find my plug-ins, Adobe Flash Player 10 wasn't listed. I just installed it yesterday and it is in my list of programs.

Today I got an automatic update window on my screen to update firefox from 3.6.18 to 3.6.19. After clicking to update, when I checked, I now have 2 firefox 3.6.18 and no 3.6.19. On the download page for 3.6.19 mac on mozilla, I only see 5.0.1 when I click on the link. I have an intel processor on my laptop and am using OS X 10.4.11. Thanks for any suggestions on what I am doing incorrectly.

IE provides a list of search engines via "Add-ons." This is convenient if you wish to disable or get rid of altogether an intrusive engine you didn't ask for. [Options provided by IE]

I cannot discover a way to do this with Firefox.

First and foremost, I'd like to clarify that I hardly have any technical knowledge. So pardon me if this comes across as a silly question to the professionals. Here are the details pertaining to this problem as per the best of my limited knowledge:

I'm currently using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.18; previously it was 3.6.13. It was updated to 3.6.13 from 3.6.9 after I clicked on Check for Updates... and it told me that it'd be done when I reboot my system. When I restarted my PC, I was surprised to find that it was downloading the version 3.6.18. I didn't know how much it'd progressed in the process, so I let it finish it. After that, I disabled the option that enables it to download and update on its own, and turned it off. Next time when I started it, it was 3.6.18, but wasn't updating on its own anymore.

Now I wanna update it directly to the latest version 5.0.1. But when I leave it to "Automatically download and install the update" option under Tools>Options>Advanced>Update, it downloads and updates the versions as per their release order. So if I leave it to it, then when I start it next time, it'll start downloading the version next to 3.6.18 and update to it instead of updating directly to 5.0.1. It'll keep doing so until it reaches there. For reasons of my own, I don't like that. So I unchecked the "Automatically download and install the update" option and chose the "Ask me what I want to do" option (so that it doesn't keep repeating the "downloading and updating" process on its own every time I start my PC). Then I went to Firefox site and thought of downloading and updating to the latest version on my own. But then I was informed that if I do so, I'll get the latest version, but I'll lose all my saved bookmarks unless I follow some hectic procedure to save them and load them again after installing the latest version of Firefox. I don't want to let that happen either. So, can anyone suggest me a way out of this situation without losing my bookmarks?

Almost forgot. I tried several times by going to Help>Check For Updates..., but every time it returned the same result: "There are no updates available. Firefox will check periodically for updates." How come no update is available while the version I'm using is 3.6.18 and the latest version is 5.0.1? In short, Check for Updates... didn't help either. (Even when I updated it last time, shouldn't it have updated itself from version 3.6.13 to 5.0.1 directly?)

So, can anyone suggest a way by which I won't lose my bookmarks and would be able to update to the latest version directly too? An answer that wouldn't involve removing the current version and installing the latest one, but directly update to it (it's okay if it needs downloading) would be more welcome. I know that the bookmarks can be saved in a file and all, but I'd like to know if it's possible as it happened for my current version from previous version. (It downloaded and updated itself on its own, disturbing nothing, not even logged me out of certain accounts where I stay logged in. The only problem there was that it wasn't updating directly to the latest version.)

The tab section keeps adding multiple tabs as I select one thing to be downloaded. it ends up looping and keeps appearing as if it is downloading multiple copies of the same thing and i have difficulty even getting to a point where it allows me to stop the download or close firefox

When trying to print anything from the Web, only the left portion of the page will print, nothing from the middle to the right of the page showing. It shows this on the print preview. I tried taking it off shrink to fit and it still doesn't show the right half of the page, the print is just larger. I can print anything from Internet Explorer and from Quickbooks, but not from Firefox. I have downloaded all of the versions up to 5.0. It did print before upgrade, but I don't remember which version actually worked.

I cannot open a tab to the right of an existing tab. I've followed the directions provided under normal FAQ. This feature just recently was wiped from my PC, and I am not certain how.

Firefox and add ons have been working fine. Following a crash I am now informed that Too Many Tabs 1.3.6 is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.18 . I don't want to upgrade because, usually, numerous add ons fail to work with upgrades and an upgrade tends to be a retrograde step as regards add ons. Firefox usually issues new versions prematurely, and tends to put the cart before the horse as regards add ons. They can't patiently wait until add ons are ready and compatible.
