I am running Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon. When installed through the Mint Software Manager, Firefox comes with the DisableAppUpdates policy enabled, which is meant to disable automatic updates. This suits me just fine, as I prefer to update Firefox manually as new versions are released rather than have them pushed on me. However, I've found that Firefox does update automatically. In fact, because of the policy, I am unable to prevent it from updating automatically. As you can see in the included screenshots, I am running the most recent version of Firefox (released today), despite updates being ostensibly disabled. I cannot find a way to disable the policy or prevent the automatic updates.

Why is this happening, and how can I stop it?

After entering my userid and password, my bnak responds with:

We don't recognize this device

It looks like you're using a new device, or you changed its settings. Before you sign in, we need to confirm it's you.

This happens on many sites. How do I stop it?

Hi, Why is it that when I log out of my account after accessing help And I later come back to help the browser has remembered my password so I don't have to enter it? Doesn't strike me a particularly secure way for things to work. How can I make sure that if I log out i am fully logged out without having to re start the browser?

I suddenly began seeing weird, random text rendering problems in the browser. It looked like tiny bites had been taken out of random letters.

At first I thought my external monitor developed bad pixels, but I discovered that the problem only occurred on Firefox (109.0.1): No other browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) showed the issue. Also, the problem only showed on my external monitors: it disappeared when I moved the browser window to my laptop screen.

I first noticed it only on letter "t" in the google search bar: I tested every other letter and none showed the same problem. In a continuous line of repeating "t" letters, the corruption occurred in a repeating pattern, only corrupting letters in position 7, 9, 16, 18, 20. But then I noticed elsewhere on the page I a random letter "a' was sometimes affected.

My NVIDIA studio driver needed updating (to 528.24), so I did that and the problem seems to have resolved. Very strange.

Doesn't happen in Chrome, but using Firefox (started recently) when visiting articles on most websites the comments section does not appear. Copy URL and transfer to Chrome or Edge they do appear. Why? What did you change?

Firefox used to save the entered usernames regardless of whether you saved the password as well. When they did the major update a couple of years ago (might have been 2020 but I think it was early 2021) and introduced the new login manager, that list stopped working and I had to type out the entire username every single time. It suddenly started working again last year and now I'm setting up a new laptop and once again, Firefox will not save the username in a dropdown menu. I use a particular website that has well over 100 different usernames for work that I do and having to type out the whole username every time I log in (I'm logging in and out upwards of 50 times a day in the spring each year) is a huge time waster over the course of a workday.

There must be some sort of setting change that can be done or patch to make the username box behave like the old Firefox. I do NOT want passwords to be saved on this site (it contains personal info for over 1000 people) but do want the username saved so all I have to do is type a portion of the username and it pulls it out of the menu. For example, it could have a username of firefox23 or firefox112 and all I have to do is type in 23 or 112 and it pulls up the rest of the username I need out of the dropdown menu.

I just got a new Macbook Pro and it has Ventura on it. My last Mac had Catalina on it where I was able to make a folder in Firefox bookmarks and put it on the toolbar where I could see and access it at all times. Then when I wanted to add something to it, I could. It was so easy.

Now I made a folder and put a website in it, but it doesn't show up on the toolbar. I have to click on bookmarks, then bookmark toolbar in the dropdown list, then I can see the folder and the contents, but it's a process, not just there on the toolbar like before. Only in Firefox browser, I login to things like Facebook with my username and it says I don't exist with that username. Multiple good accounts are doing this. I open Explorer and the same account works with the same password. Open on phone works beautifully.

Had reinstalled Firefox after harddrive repaced. But it was doing it. Refreshed Firefox. Thought it would solve. Didn't.

Some text, and hyperlinks are yellow. Yellow text on a white background is impossible for me to read. Hyperlinks are normally blue. Can I change the text from yellow back to blue?

Hi, I am a photographer and use an asset management and editing program called Adobe Lightroom Classic. Another photographer and I have found that when Firefox is running at the same time as Lightroom, the whole computer slows to a stop. Lightroom runs okay alongside other browsers. Firefox runs well at the same time as other editing software including DxO PhotoLab 6 and ON1 Photo Raw

I run Windows 10 with AMD A10 processor, 32 GB RAM

I'm a writer who relies heavily on instant access to Dictionary by Merriam-Webster. I recently got a new laptop and the dictionary will not load. It eventually will load but in a truncated looking format that is not useful. It works fine if I use Microsoft Explorer. I have cleared my cache but it still will not load and I have no trouble with anything else. This is super inconvenient. Is there some setting for Dictionary I'm missing?
