I keep getting this message from Network Solutions when I try t read my webmail. We’ve determined that you are connecting to your email using an unencrypted client connection and your data is not safe. Where in Firefox can I make the changes?
This security update requires all email server connections to use an encrypted connection. We will make the switch to require encrypted connections on April 4th, 2024.
What does this mean for you? Read on to learn about the important actions you need to take to make sure your email stays safe and secure.
IMPORTANT! Actions that you need to take before April 4th, 2024:
When setting up your email in a third-party client, you are now required to enable Outgoing Server (SMTP) authentication and SSL/TLS. This ensures a secure connection when you log in to your email. Learn more about these steps here. Set up or update your email account on your device using the server settings as shown below: Incoming Mail Server: POP3: netsol-pop-oxcs.hostingplatform.com Port: 995 IMAP (Recommended): netsol-imap-oxcs.hostingplatform.com Port: 993 Outgoing Mail Server: SMTP: netsol-smtp-oxcs.hostingplatform.com Port: 587 Username - Your full email address, for instance, help@example.com Password - The password you set for your mailbox Review this list of mail clients that do not support TLS 1.2 (If you are using any of these mail clients, you will need to update to a newer version or use webmail to access your email) Outlook® 2007 Outlook 2010 MacMail on MacOS 10.8 or before Windows 7 Review this list of Operating Systems that support TLS 1.2 (If you are using an older version, you will need to update to a newer version as listed below)
Operating System TLS 1.2 Supported OS versions Android Mobile Android 5 and newer iOS Mobile iOS 9 and newer Windows Phone Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Windows Desktop Windows 8 and newer Mac OS Desktop Mac OS X 10.11 and newer
Please visit our Help Center for more detailed instructions.
Note: This security update requires action if you use an email client application to send and receive your email on an Apple, Windows-based PC, or Android device. Webmail Access will still be available.

I am using Mozilla Firefox on MS Windows 10. I want to add an autoconfig file to lock some preferences. As per this doc firefox.cfg and autoconfig.js need to be saved in the same directory where firefox is installed. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customizing-firefox-using-autoconfig
I had downloaded firefox from the Microsoft store. Firefox is installed in the %programfiles%/WindowsApps folder, which is owned by 'trusted installer'. Because of this a normal user cannot write to this folder, not even with Admin access.
Is there a way to set auto config without changing folder permissions? Can I save the firefox.cfg and autoconfig.js somewhere else other than the install folder?

"Grrr! A popup blocker may be preventing the application from opening the page. If you have a popup blocker, try disabling it to open the window."
I can not find a way to fix this and did not have this problem with the previous version.

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? Thank you for your time.

As of January 2024, I am constantly being asked for a Primary Password when I use the Firefox browser. I do not believe I ever set a Primary Password or Master Password with Firefox, and I have been using Firefox for many years. When I go to the Settings page, it says to confirm my current Primary Password in order to change it. But I need to know my current password to do that. I also unchecked Primary Password, and got a pop-up that said if I remove my Primary Password my information will not be protected if my computer is compromised. Obviously, I don't want that to happen. Is it possible I am being asked for a Primary Password because I am using a VPN? Please advise on how to resolve this problem. I can't change my password, and I can't confirm ever setting one so I am concerned. Thank you.

Before updating Firefox to 123.0.1 (64-bit) + MacOS Sonoma, I could use FIDO2 on OnlyKey and login to my proton mail. Now, however something has changed on Firefox that I get presented with two prompts to touch my usb key, but the key itself doesn't respond to the second prompt and login fails.
I first get this prompt as before. I select 'Authenticate' and would be presented with the second picture. Since my key is not expecting to be touched, nothing happens when I touch it and login fails with the message displayed in the last picture.

I have been using Windows 10 with Firefox browser and Google/Gmail for many months. I also have been using Norton 360 and other Norton programs for many years. A few days ago, I updated Norton Utilities Ultimate and after update ran it for standard options. Before that update, I could start Google and still be signed in and start Gmail and still be signed in. Now, whenever I close Gmail or Google, I have to sign in whenever I start Google/Gmail. I tried to get help from Norton (see attached chat printout), but they said it was not a Norton problem and to contact Google. When I researched the problem with Google, it indicated that the problem was related to cookies but did not help correct it. I tried Firefox Help and could not find any useful information. I then changed to Google Chrome browser; that works and I can start and stop Google and Gmail and remain signed in. If I go back to Firefox, I still have to sign in every time I start Google. Appears to me to be Firefox or Firefox setting problem. Help!! Gordon gordonandpatti@gmail.com

Why?
Additionally, there is a work around, with removing ALL entries for the extensions.webextensions.restrictedDomains config flag. But why does Mozilla think they are so important that extensions shouldn't use them?

Installed FF yesterday to give it a try. Today I was on a trusted page when the download window popped up showing me what you see below. I was on a trusted website and there was nothing clicked to download and this wasn't expected. It's an executable file claiming to be from Zoom.com. I wasn't on their website either.
Is the legitimate, something that FF wanted to add to use Zoom from within the browser?

Later version refuses to connect to my modem, and goes into security web mode. This modem uses HTTP/HTTPS for access, i.e., connects directly it's IP address, then the user enters a username and password. At that point, the the modem switches to HTTPS for control.
With this recent update, there is NO WAY to access the modem for any work, or upgrade the HTTPS certificate on the modem. This is a BUG.
What should happen is that if the web site will accept a HTTP connection, Firefox should NOT refuse connection or test for security issues UNTIL the user or the device switches to HTTPS.
As an aside, I've used Firefox on this Zywall modem for years until recently.

Hi dear Community!
As of recent, my AntiVirus software is flagging Firefox.exe (Full path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe) as a vulnerable application. I have been using firefox for years (Because I love it, you guys are heroes) and i have been using Kaspersky for years. Firefox has only been flagged as of recent.........
I hope someone knows why, has this too or can calm my paranoia
Some Additional information:
Have you clicked any suspicious links? No i have not. The links i have visited were all https, checked and acknowledged by Kaspersky and i can say with full certainty that the sites were legit
Have i downloaded any files as of recent? Yes, but from reputable sources and always checked using Hashes and validating using KSN (Kaspersky security network).
