Sometimes all add-ons / extensions break randomly and are disabled (the icon of the extensions is also broken under "Manage Your Extensions").

The extensions are visible under "about:addons", but the slider is turned off and the icon in front of each extension is broken / empty.

It seems that deleting these 2 files- compatibility.ini and extensions.json inside the firefox profile folder, usually fixes the issue. Only these 2 files though, don't delete anything else.

No need to mess around with the ff profiles or anything else, just deleting those 2 files and restarting the firefox usually fixes the issue with the "unregistered" addons.

This thread is for the search function, as I found some VERY old and outdated suggestions for the aforementioned issue using the search function.

I wonder what causes the extensions to "unregister" randomly.

On the page listing passwords, it was possible to sort them by "Alerts".

On my other laptop using Firefox v121, the alerts are properly displayed. But on my second laptop using Firefox v124, the alerts are gone. I can't sort password by "Alerts", the option isn't there. Both laptops share the same Firefox account and have password synchronized between each other.

Obviously, I ticked the "Show alerts about passwords for breached websites" box in the settings but it looks like it does not nothing. I also checked in "about:config" and everything seems good.

Is this feature gone?

I using kubuntu (ubuntu with kde) 22.04 and firefox will not recognize my security key. There is a really good thread on this here. It is now closed.

One of the solutions is to install firefox from the mozilla server. On other forums, this is referred to removing snap and installing the debs. I haven't tried this.

Reading through the thread however, it seems like the snap version should work. The manufacurers id and product code for my Thetis FIDO2 usb key are present in the etc/udev/rules.d/70-snap.firefox.rules

This answer says to disable apparmor. I tried that, but it didn't work.

This isn't actually a firefox problem. KDE Neon uses the firefox package from the Mozilla Team PPA and there's nothing wrong with that package. The problem is that Neon enables app armor on firefox which breaks access to password managers and security keys. sudo aa-disable usr.bin.firefox works around the problem by disabling app armor for firefox. aa-complain was not sufficient in this case.

Is there anything else I can try?

Why doesn't "open previous windows" work? It can't be checked off in settings. It seems other people have this problem. Are there any fixes? I have a Windows computer with Windows 11. It works on my Android phone, but not on my desktop.

Hello, 1. How do I bring history back -since mid March - after a windows system reset and laptop clean up recently? I signed on but I cannot find the prior history nor tabs closed. I use Windows 10. 2. Why when I open a new tab, the 'profile or account' icon does not show my picture, so as to indicate that I am signed on? Each time a new tab is opened, Mozzilla does not recognize me!! 3. When I click on the account icon on the second row, instead of taking me to my account, it takes me to settings, Synch. 4. I have selected the dark mode - from customisation - but the first two rows are in light blue-gray color same as the task bar of Windows 10. 5. I tied to use the take a screen shot function to send you a screen shot of the page that appears in dark except the top rows, but when I click the screen shot icon - that I have placed in the second top row - it does not activate-work. 6. From the Menu some info shows in Greek although my selected language is English. Is it possibly due to my location, under the profile, being Greece? should I change it? I am sure I ll come across more issues, as it feels as I am driving a new car since the change and all is annoying Thanks

When using the CPU, the browser runs at 144 fps, but if I switch to the GPU, it becomes 60 fps. I tried switching GPUs for firefox in the nvidia control panel and Windows graphics settings - nothing helped. Are there any solutions?

When I open Firefox to my home page any additional tabs that I open keep crashing. The page tells me that it has crashed and there is a restore tab button there but that doesn't work and the crash message just comes back.

I'm using the current version of Firefox 124.0.1 (64-bit). I recently noticed that when I print -- there's no webpage title or URL address with date on the bottom even when I have checked and selected print headers/footers before printing. Is this a bug? Can you please help me? Thank you.

I've installed firefox and weirdly when I use youtube or just browsing the CPU is 250 and it's draining my new mac really quickly. This did not happen before on my previous mac. I Have used Firefox as my main browser for a long time. I've also played the games on pch.com (Publishers Clearing House) for years. About ten days ago, I started having problems connecting. The error messages have changed a little each time, but still no access. I've also tried Chrome and Edge, and still no access. Today, I tried to access on my phone and got a 'site is not secure' message. Any idea what's causing this or what the problem may be? Have you heard about changes to the pch.com website? I can access the site if I turn off my ISP connection and use a data connection. My ISP is Optimum. Looking for any guidance. Thanks.

Every time FF does an update it deletes my saved sites on the FF home page. When I try and put them back in the blank spaces it will not let me. I have tried reinstalling FF and it does not help at all. I try in safe mode and it does not work either.

Hi I've no idea which section this should go.. I'm having an issue when a youtube channel im following sets a live. When I get the card on the desktop for the 30 min timer, I'll click it.. sometimes it will open in a new tab (usually the card just disappears), that's another problem.. Anyway.. If I switch to the new tab at the time the live should have started, it shows the counter reset to 30 minutes.. if I F5 the page it will load the live.. Is there a way to auto start the live when the counter hits zero?

I had to delete Firefox on my iPhone because links in emails wouldn't open anymore. Yes, it was set for default.

When I re-installed it, the tabs don't close. I hit the X to make a webpage go away and open a new tab. Hit that X when I'm through. Then close an empty Firefox on my phone.

When I reopen Firefox, I get all these little miniature webpages of the tabs I closed. I don't want them. I closed them because I was through. This is wasting my time making me close them again and again ...

Please tell me how to set Firefox on my iPhone so that when I open it I get my homepage with shortcuts I have chosen and nothing else.

Last update disabled picture in picture mode -- on top of full scree applications.
