What you are describing is that your phone and your PC are in sync. That is intentional. That lets you see and respond whether on phone or PC. You can reset your phone from an IMAP account to a POP account, but you would also need to set account to leave messages on server. Sent messages would stay on the phone and not appear on the pc. I don't recommend this, but that setting may work for you.
