My Firefox browser pages have suddenly started displaying Euro sign instead of $. Would like to fix that.
Looking at sites that should display prices in American dollars are instead showing prices with Euro sign in place of $.

Hi lynne99, websites may adapt their currency and other details based on your location, which they typically guess from your current IP address.
Your IP address may be set by your current service provider (e.g., home cable/DSL service, coffee shop hotspot, work ISP), or a VPN service provider, if you use a VPN to change how you connect to sites.
Do IP-lookup sites like the following show an unexpected location:
Sites also can request your precise location, but that's probably not the issue in this case, unless you happen to be in Europe.
Thanks jscher. I checked the iplocation & my address was correct for all options. I did also restart & $ showed correctly initially but has now reverted back to euro sign. I also checked on Firefox options/content/fonts & colors "Allow pages to choose their own fonts". It didn't make any difference if I checked or un-checked that box. So anything else - other than just ignore the situation :)
What did you use to check you IP address?
Hmm, another thing sites might use is your preferred language list. You can check that here:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the search box at the top of the page, type lang and Firefox should filter to the "Language" section. If you click the Choose... button, do you have any European languages at or near the top of the list?
Otherwise, does the site have a feature on its pages to set your currency? I don't know how else that might get changed during your session, it sounds suspiciously like your connection is changing somehow.
I used https://www.iplocation.net/ - which was suggested byjscher2000
Does it make a difference whether you use Private Browsing mode in case of a problem with cookies?
What does the Internationalization & Localization ection on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page show?
What is the order of the installed languages?
- Options/Preferences -> General -> Languages
