1. How to move mail between two different Macbooks with different OSX and different versions of Thunderbirds?

How do I move my email profiles (there are several) from an old Mac to a new one, when the old Mac can't be upgraded anymore and the Thunderbird versions don't match?

Old Macbook OSX Monteray 12.7.4 can not go any higher on OSX due to hardware not being compatible Thunderbird 140.5 Oesr 64 bit - don't know if it can be updated or not, but expect not. Minimizing run time as much as I can because the fan is going nuts and I think the battery is going - gets very hot.

I copied all the different profile folders from the Old Mac to an external drive. However, I don't think I can just plop them in to the new Profiles folder on the New Mac, given the Thunderbird versions and OSX version don't match.

All I need is e-mail - not calendars, contacts etc., although it might be nice to to have those Thanks in advance

2. How to .pdf old emails (With attachments) Also, the profiles folder is huge (219 GB), with multiple profiles and I want to save old emails (with attachments) into .pdf and appreciate advice on what .pdf converter/file converter would be best. It doesn't have to be free. It does need to respect my privacy.

In the process of changing from Windows to Linux, I have entered the details of my email account and it is fine when I press re-test, but when I press done it is not fine anymore. The email is “freeuk.com” which is still active but Freeuk itself isn’t, but the service was taken over by Claranet with a “clara.net” setting, so I imagine that may be relevant. Any help (not too technical please) would be appreciated. Thanks.

I changed my password for Greenby/Plusnet today. Now Thunderbird is unable to connect to them. The password is correct as I can enter website directly. No problems before change. Grateful for help.

Should I reinstall?

I still use Thunderbird on an old desktop and for the past month or more, I've discovered with some sort of communication error or the direct pop-up that I cannot login to server and it asked me to 'retry'/'Enter New Password"/"Cancel" and it's beyond frustrating. I'm on the verge of just uninstalling this for my emails and use another platform. Before so, since I've been using TBird for a long time, I figured I'd consult some experts here to guide me how to navigate this annoyance. ANY suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thunderbird just updated and the next time I opened it all of the folders I created and the emails I'm storing within them are missing. I found my profile as directed. I'm not sure if I have a backup of it. I've included the screenshot as you ask for. I know that those folders and emails are there as I was playing around with the the 3 lines > View and when I moved between the different choices I saw my folders/emails are all in there.

Whenever I use Thunderbird (TB) I get the following error message:Thunderbird is damaged and can't be reopened." This file was downloaded on an unknown date. What is the problem and how can I get rid of the error message.

Somehow I got 2 emails: gregory@gregorysantana.com and Gregory@GregorySantana.com The lower case shows a lock blue envelope and the upper case shows a lock red envelope. I don't understand the icon meaning of the lock icon and the color coding.

Further: I use command File, sub menu Get New Messages for All Accounts.

In the lower part of the overall panel, I see new messages downloading, but the new messages don't show up in either account.

How to correct, it is important.

The issue has been "An error occurred connecting to mail.mediacombb.net:993." on the server page, where you can "test connection to server" in Account > Server Settings > Security Settings. I get the same error message for each four different accounts. I have no problems with the other two different accounts not associated with Mediacom (MC). I contacted MC and they said my settings were correct and to contact TB. I have read several posts with no real solutions except that was resolved through an update. I plan to switch to a different Linux distro later. I am currently using Big Linux Manjaro with the latest update. Note that I had no problems with TB until last month. I do not do the uninstall/reinstall apps unless it will resolve my issues as a last resort. Second, sometimes I receive MC e-mails and did not run the "test connection to server," then until today while troubleshooting for several hours. I was trying to send out an e-mail, which I had no problems last week. I already went to Account > Server Settings > Advanced and changed the "Maximum number of server connections to cache" from 5 down to 1 with no luck.

  The e-mail server settings are:

imap.mediacombb.net 993 SSL/TLS Normal Password and smtp.mediacombb.net 587 STARTTLS Normal Password They have not been changed since I switched from windows 10 to Zorin 18 to currently Big Linux Manjaro. I attempted to locate a method to check if the server settings were correct via Terminal. M$ Outlook has a test page that you can send to yourself or another e-mail account. Last, MC tech informed me that M$ Outlook is more friendly than TB. I know that I have used M$ Outlook for years and rarely had any connection issues unlike TB. Unlike Evolution, which was my first after M$ Outlook, TB is much better and easier than Evolution. Thank you in advance for your time and advice.

It's very odd. Normally moving an email, say from the Inbox to the relevant year's archive, takes "no time at all".

Which is true for all the mailboxes shown on the attached screenshot, EXCEPT for the four at the bottom. Moving even one message from Inbox to Yiddish can take ten seconds or longer (with the dreaded "Not Responding" occasionally). Moving something in the opposite direction is also screwy, only from those four.

I had thought that it was because they're rather large. This first started when there were just Yiddish and MSW, and I split off most of the earlier years into the archives shown. To no avail.

It's only an annoyance, but I'm puzzled about how such a thing could happen.

Also very slow tagging or untagging a message just in those mailboxes.

Edit address book entry displays only DELETE and CANCEL at the bottom of the edited entry. The rightmost border may be obscured as the display does not allow for scroll.

How can one setup a sending email server with same address and username but different passwords?

When trying to setup 2 different accounts i find a thunderbird limitation using API email password which have same smtp server address and username and only differs in password.

Is there a workaround?

The thunderbird server seems unresponsive and doesn’t recognise my password - what can I do? I can get my emails on my iPhone, luckily, but feel safer from scamming when opening them on my laptop. Please advise - thanks. Ps I have recently donated to Thunderbird!

I am having problems accessing my email [redacted]@hotmail.co.uk I am currently using Windows 10 on my computer I sent you a very detailed email the other day unfortunately I am not sure if you got it because I could not verify it because I think you sent me a code or something to the very Email I cant get access to clearly as a 68 year old man who knows nothing about modern technology things like this are not what you need I am also classed as Severely disabled with various illnesses from Diabetes and sleep apnea to Ulcerative Colitis and mental health problems.I also have CTS in both hands so trying to type this out on my phone is not ideal I am not having a go at anyone but I would have thought that with the amount of intelligent people connected to technology organisations that one of them would have thought about this type of problem and came up with a simple solution it's not rocket science if the main problem I'm having is not being able to access my email and have no other accessible other ways to confirm things to you surely a freely available freephone number from the country you live in to yourselves or if you yourselves contacted the person Directly preferably on their home phone but if not their recognised mobile number and asked them some basic security questions by firstly asking them for two step verification to their mobile (if they have one) likewise I am aware not everyone had either a home phone or a mobile (or both) because of various problems I have encountered with verification methods that are not available to me or might be but I dont know how they work then surely I cannot be the only one? under the 1998 Human Rights Acts and Protocols Article 1 Protocol 1 people like myself are meant to have protective status especially here in Britain where the 2010 Equalities Act is meant to give us added protection and certain rights all I am asking for is to speak to someone who wont talk to me using Computer Jargon and at least has some Empathy and Common Sense to help me get this Sorted I use Firefox and Mozilla because I Like what you are trying to do but if you are going to cause people like myself the exact same problems I and others like me may as well just not bother with technology because the Stress it causes me in particular is simply not worth it. As in the subject, my computer has sound everywhere else but, despite 'play a sound' still showing as ticked in general settings, no sound happens when an e-mail arrives. And, in general settings for 'when a new message' arrives, I can hit the Play Button there and the sound happens. How do I fix this?
