1. How can I strip attachments so that they don't stay with the email copy in the sent folder? 2. I want to remove all attachments from all sent mail. How do I do this? Appreciate any help! Thanks.

Email in the send folder is an exact copy of what is send, including the mime encoded attachments. They are text in the body of the email.
This add-on might do what you want. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/attachmentextractor/?src=search But the resulting email will not be evidence in litigation, nor will it work on encrypted or digitally signed mail.
