Firefox help screen says it is up to date but is it

I believe the latest version is 48.0.2 but I have 47.0.1 and it says up-to-date and doesn't give option to update. Not had this problem in the past. I opt for Firefox to notify me of updates but not auto install. I have done it this way regularly in the past. Do I have to download and reinstall the new version on top of what I have.

Open up Help > About Firefox and use the Check for Updates button.

firefox IT should notify of problems with their platforms, and not have us have to dig for answers
