Hello and Thank You for your help!, I recently uninstalled malware from my computer. Since then I cannot open my gmail account and retrieve my email. ail.
I removed the ASK tool bars from my computer and since then I keep being told the cookies is either enabled or disabled. I refreshed Firefox and that solved nothing it just erased somethings that I setup on my desktop. I'm not dump but I'm not that well versed in resolving this issue and I don't want to make matters worse.......please help! And thank you so much! One more thing......I can still retrieve my email using Explorer but chose not to because of the lack of support for XP which is what I have. Again Thank You

I not note you have
Mindspark Toolbar Platform Plugin Stub for 32-bit Windows
Is that something you want and deliberately installed.
I am not saying that is causing the current problem, but I am wondering if possibly you still have malware that you may not yet be aware of. I suggest you scan with multiple and up to date tools.
Please post back to say what you have tried and how you get on.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
- AdwCleaner: (for adware)
- Kaspersky Free security scan
You need to use multiple and up-to-date tools as they will not all pick up the same things.
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good FREE permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Good afternoon and thank you John99!... for the reply and advice to my problem the other day. To give some insite to the issue I presented...the ASK toolbar was somehow downloaded onto my laptop and I not knowing that it was as malware and dangerous to my computer at first I left there. I did not like the fact that it was there and how it seemed to take over my setup. Well I looked into it which was fairly easy and found out what I did about Mindspark...not good! I also discovered while trying to solve the problem after receiving you responseto this problem that JAVA ORACLE can carry the Ask toolbar thru their updates. When OKed an update I found it wanting to add the ASK toolbar. I know that in the past I have not allowed other things that carry the ASK toolbar to download this because I liked what I had already setup. Well some where along the way it got downloaded. Anyway...I tried what you had suggested and nothing has changed. I receive email's thru Exployer and bring up my desktop to get onto Mozilla. This is not working!!! I just want to get onto Firefox, click into gmail and anything else I want and use it!..I can assure you that the one thing I cannot do is get into my gmail. It wants to tell my about my cookies...I have pressed all the right buttons and this is not solving anything at all. I was wandering that if I remove Firefox and download it again will this solve the problem. And will I be able to use all the same information or will I find it telling me that someone else already has that email, password, name, etc. because it did not clear everything when I removed Firefox from my computer? Remember, I'm not an expert on computers so any information you may have or suggestions you can give would be highly appreciated but step by step details are also welcome and needed! Again...Thank You so much, truly! Diana12
Look in Tools > Options > Privacy > History. To the right of Firefox will: click the drop-down arrow and select Remember History.
To access Gmail, ensure you're typing mail.google.com in the browser address bar.
Removing and replacing Firefox if you wish, will not have any effect on the Gmail account you presently own.
Hi Diana12, If you are still using Fierfox and having problems please let us know.
Did you try using the link Tony98 gave http://mail.google.com/ what happens if you just click on that link does that work in getting you to the gmail login screen ? If so bookmark and use that link in future.
Hi John99!....again Thanks for your reply. Yes I took the advice that Tony98 gave after I had logged onto Firefox. I still got the same response.... a page with Google's logo at the top and below that telling me about cookies and the cache. This is the only thing I get when I am on Firefox and try to log into my gmail. Please keep in mind that I am logged onto Internet Explorer to get my email. So when I am receiving your responses or responding to you it is thru I.E. not Firefox. I would like to stay with Mozilla Firefox for many reasons, not Explorer. I hope there is some resolution for this problem. I'm amazed that this forum does not give up helping you with a problem. I hope this helps you in helping me further in this.......Thanks, Diana12
Can you try copying the URL link (which is actually working) from the IE address bar and pasting it into the Firefox address bar? Let us know the result of this.
Please post the exact message you get referring to Cookies and Cache. If you know how to take a screenshot, it would be best if you could save it and upload it here.
Did you actually try FredMcD's tips on clearing cache and cookies?
Here is some detail on making screenshots. The forum does not like very large files but .jpeg or .png type files are ok
Also what happens when you try to use this forum without using the email for instance this is a direct link to your current thread. You will need to login to reply, but even without logging in you should see the posts, try the link in IE and in Firefox
