About three days ago, the dropdown lists for various websites I use stopped populating unless I use the backspace. So, for instance, if I want to find "John", nothing happens if I just start to type it in. But if I type in "Jo" and then backspace, John pops up. (Perhaps important: Even though I have now deleted the "o", only John pops up, not names beginning with J but followed by a different letter.) Curiously, it seems like the first time each day that I go onto any given website, the dropdown does populate properly, but just that once. I checked Edge and Chrome, and the dropdowns work fine there, so it's definitely a Firefox problem. Any ideas about what is going on and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Hello, since an update (unfortunately I can't say whether it was my Mac or Firefox) I have "too many" accounts on sync. Firefox on the iPad and Firefox on the iPhone and two Firefox accounts with similar names on the computer are displayed. I actually use one of them, the other is just displayed. The one I can't influence/change shows tabs from ~2 weeks ago. I've already logged out of Firefox and logged in again, stopped the synchronization, and closed the browser. Thanks in advance!

I'm curious if there was a recent change in Firefox for macOS that started marking items copied from private windows as "concealed"?

I've been using Firefox for quite some time and last week started noticing that my clipboard history app, Alfred, was no longer storing anything I copied out of private windows.

Initially I reached out to Alfred and they suggested this was on Firefox's end:

Upon further investigation, I can see that Firefox intentionally marks its clipboard data as Concealed in order to protect searches done in a private window.

If this is true, can I turn this off somehow? It really breaks my workflow and am unfortunately stuck using Chrome at the moment.

I want to use my 'esmail.hematdoost@gmail.com' instead of current 'hematdoostemail@gmail.com' on my firefox account, but it says that this account has already been confirmed by another user and it has a data breach, apparently on linkedin. I do not understand. both emails belong to me but I cannot use it as secondary email on my firefox!?

When I try to connect to AOL or any other part of the internet this message appears:

 Check Firefox has permission to access the web( you might be connected but behind a firewall)

Cut /copy and paste, nightmare!!!

what is going on? Cut / copy and paste should be easy, its not. Open a new tab, google homepage, and unable to paste the item I had just copied from another tab, it will only work when I go back to original and recopy? Too time consuming this issue.

Is there a way to sync my reading lists between my devices just like bookmarks? I mark some pages on my ipad, but they dont appear on my iphone’s reading list.

If that’s not a feature yet, will it be?

When I click a link in a Gmail msg, it opens in the same tab as Gmail. The default for Firefox is supposed to open a link in a new tab. I don't want to lose the open Gmail tab when I open the link. How can I change the behavior so the link opens in a new tab?

I tried to downgrade to 82.0.3 (this version is mentioned in bug report 1638675) and it works well.

I am using the following webpages with animation for the performance test: 1) http://www.java2s.com/example/javascript-book/testing-browser-animation-performance.html 2) http://www.java2s.com/example/javascript-book/testing-browser-animation-performance-demo-d2dff.htm

Here is what I know so far... - '--safe-mode' or 'layers.gpu-process.enabled' do not make any difference; - the second webpage gives better performance (comparable to 82.0.3), so the issue can be related to the text+animation combination; - even if I scroll the first webpage to move the animation out of view, the performance is still bad; - looks like it depends on window size (1st webpage)

Ever since FireFox updated to the latest version I'm constantly having Tabs crash within Firefox. The following message comes up: GAH. Your tab just crashed..

I can't turn off lazy loading. I set the following about:config settings to "false":

browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand browser.sessionstore.restore_tabs_lazily browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand

Nothing changes. When I start Firefox, it simply won't load all tabs. How do I fix this?

Updated to SONOMA yesterday. Since then, with VPN (PIA) on, Firefox will not connect to any website, or websites do not appear normal. Even signing up to post this question here without the VPN on took longer (BAD GATEWAY; Error; No Access) for whatever reason... This never happened before.

Is anyone else having issues with thew new operating system SONOMA, with VPN and without, on Firefox?

No matter what I try, my MFF keeps crashing at startup. For some reason, it tries to open 2 pages the windows at the same time, which is illogical. I deleted firstly my: sessionstore.jsonlz4 logins.json to no avail.

Then I tried to open MFF through elevated CMD with the command: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -safe-mode Again, 2 windows pop crashing immediately.

I do not understand why all of the sudden, it tries to open 2 different instances at once. This makes no sense. I am out of ideas, having tried many an option found on Google, but which none give me a solution.

If anyone has an idea, I would be quite darn thankful. This MSEdge crap that I need to use now is not quite my thing.

Hi, when using the --search option with firefox in the command line a new window is opened regardless of whether the 'open in new tab instead of new window' option is checked in settings or whether the --new-instance option is added.

Is there a way around this? I'm trying to have a command that would make a search in a new tab of the current instance of Firefox.

I was set up, in myuserchrome.css, to hide my pinned tabs on the tab bar, allowing them to still be available in the "List all tabs" menu, see first image

.tabbrowser-tab[pinned="true"] { display: none !important;}

All of a sudden, it reverted back

That first image, with the hidden tabs, is actually from Librewolf, with has the identical setting.

Due to a Windows 11 system restore, I had to reinstall Firefox. After signing in I found that all bookmarks, extensions and passwords have gone and the original 2020 profile they were attached to seems to be missing as well. I initially installed the Firefox app from the windows store and thought that might have been the problem, so uninstalled it and reinstalled from the mozilla website. That didn't heelp so I went through all the help articles I could find and I still can't figure out how to restore anything.
