the latetest version of firefox has stopped the url and search from the url line working.

every time firefox is updated (about 10 times a week) somethiong stops working.

maybe i should move to another browser - now seriously thiking about moving.

can i move back a version or reinstall the previous version?

how can i find the version before 25.0 there seams to be various sub versions?

why is it so hard?

i am starting to hate mozila

hello mabel99, first of all we're mainly volunteers and users like you part of the mozilla community helping out here in the forums, so no reason to hate anybody :-)

if you're getting daily firefox updates, then something is wrong and you're not on the regular release channel, which is scheduled to receive an update every six weeks. in this case, please go to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/#firefox, and download the firefox release version and install it on top of your current version...

regarding the issue with the address-bar you've mentioned, maybe one of your extensions is interfering here. can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once?

i don't hate anyone i just hate the number of updates, i did exagerate a bit not 10 a week but they do update a lot, which is ok from a security point of view but an add-on always seems to break.

the search from the url bar seems to work now but the url suffix add-on doesn't.

ok, i couldn't get it to work either and there don't seem to be alternatives available at the moment on addons.mozilla.org unfortunately.

one thing you could do (though it's intended for larger organizations and not recommended for end users in particular), is to switch to the firefox ESR version which will stay on version 24 for roughly a year now & which will only receive security updates: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/faq/ (download link is near the end of the page)

thanks for that

i have noticed, unless i am confused; that ctrl+enter will add either .co.uk or .com

it seems to decide what should be added.
