Missing/lost default searchplugins like google

I lost my default search engines. Not sure when it happened, only noticed when I tried to use the default search bar and it wouldn't search anywhere. The icon in the search bar showed a blank page icon.

I checked my searchplugin folder in my profile data and all the searchplugins were missing. Tried adding the searchplugins found in the Program File folder for Firefox 4.0b7 to no avail. I even reinstalled Firefox 4.0b7.

How do I reinstall just the default searchplugins? (I just want the basic Google.)

Starting in SafeMode and resetting default search engines resolved the issue.
