I've done it many times - copy the folder under Profiles to a big memory stick, copy that into Profiles on my other (travel) computer, and all is well. But this time, I got the "old version of T-Bird" message. Nothing I try fixes it. I made sure that both computers downloaded today's versions. It keeps giving me the "old version F you" message. Help!!!!

Please quote any and all error messages you see, completely and verbatim. I don't know what "old version F you message" is. What do you mean by "trashed"?

What versions of Thunderbird are involved?

What is your operating system.

Fortunately, you still an unmolested copy of your Profile, so you can over start again if necessary. Right?

Hi Lin, Thanks for getting back to me. What a nightmare, I seem to have fixed it by completely re-doing my profile including connections to Network Solutions and then copying all my old Profile stuff into that folder. Luckily I had saved it on memory brick.

"old version F you" was my (angry) shorthand for the message saying that you are trying to use a profile from a newer version with an old version. I saw that message about a dozen times, over a 10 hour period trying to fix this.

Both computers had the latest version, 151.0.

Thanks again!
