I have recently lost all my filters after a conversion to IMAP. To quickly generate many new filters, I wish to have a quick shortcut, perhaps a key-combination, that will do the following:

For the message that is currently highlighted and for which the shortcut is invoked:

Create a filter that will Match on From > Contains > the domain name in the URL

and that will Move the message to Local Folders > Trash

Is there such a way to do this?

Thank you

Michael

There is this shortcut: Message/Create Filter From Message... Press Alt if the Menu Bar with Message is hidden.

Thank you, yes, I am aware of the procedure you name. However, it is repetitive and time consuming and tedious to enter the desired info if there are numerous items for which to create a filter. It would be nice to have the streamlined shortcut I have described. It might require a short program or macro, perhaps to access the Thunderbird API, which I know nothing about. But hope springs eternal.

Thank you, this is helpful. I looked over the webpage of the developer (https://quickfolders.org/quickFilters.html) and noted that this is an open source program, at least the non-Pro version. It seems rather complex, as has been commented on in reviews, and the somewhat dire warning from Thunderbird before installing the add-on raises concern that I may not want to get into this much complexity and theoretical risk. I have not used T-bird add-ons before, but will give this further consideration. Thank you again for the suggestion.
