What is the error message you are receiving? Verbatim please.

There is no error message. Windows (10) Support says Thunderbird is "not compatible," something I mistrust because Thunderbird worked fine prior to the recent update (this desktop was installed with Windows 10, and I have accepted updates when Windows offered them). When I start Thunderbird, it attempts to connect with my email server, but eventually stops without connecting. I tried a test send from one mail account to another (I use 2), and while Thunderbird reports a successful send, the message has not yet been received, something curious if the outgoing server was indeed successful reached.

Curiously, Thunderbird did succeed in sending the mail message from one account to another, but Thunderbird does ''' not'''' report receiving that message. The last message Thunderbird reports receiving was on Thursday (8/22) afternoon, around the time I updated my Windows program. (Rather than webmail, I am able to send and receive through Outlook, but I prefer using Thunderbird for familiarity and for the archive and local folders I have kept there.)

Could you please do the following?

  1. Open the menu Fx57Menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information, then click Copy text to Clipboard.
  2. Go to https://pastebin.mozilla.org/, paste the clipboard by right clicking in the large text area, select paste from the menu, change the retention period to expire in 28 days, use the Paste Snippet button to create a page containing your info, then copy the resulting URL (address) of the page created.
  3. Open a reply to this post, and paste the URL to your troubleshooting information you just copied.
  4. Please also provide results for the following test on your system

I hope this is the link you requested: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/?_gl=1*1mhcw5x*_ga*MTA5MDIxMTg0LjE3MjQ0NDUyMjc.*_ga_2VC139B3XV*MTcyNDYxNjE1OC40LjEuMTcyNDYxODA4NC4wLjAuMA..

The problem re-occurred when attempted in troubleshooting mode.

I will try after opening Windows in safe mode and report later.

Hi jdecrest. You were close but that url from Mozilla Pastebin seems to be missing a part of itself so try going back to https://pastebin.mozilla.org & repeating Matt's steps: Open menu Fx57Menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information, then click Copy text to Clipboard. Then right-click in the large text area, select Paste. Lastly, click the blue button called Paste Snippet. On the next page that loads, right-click the url in the address bar, choose Copy. Then paste it here.

The url should look like this after you click the blue "Paste Snippet" button: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/dQ5qDcWT

It should be shorter like this without all the very long characters at the end.

Is anybody willing or able to help following my pastbin correction on 8/26/24 at 9:32 am? Thunderbird presently appears to be able to send out messages, but still is not displaying any messages received since 8/22/24 am.
