Thunderbird forgets the message list columns I pick (e.g. "From") and resets the defaults (e.g. "Correspondents") on restart.
New install of latest release of Thunderbird on new PC running Windows 10. I've tried the "Apply columns to..." function but it doesn't help. It's driving me nuts.
Chosen solution
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (again) and now it seems to be working. I don't think I did anything differently, but it seems to be fixed. Thank you for your help.

Do you have CCleaner or another "optimizer" or privacy guard that might be deleting the sessions file as CCleaner does claiming it to assist with your privacy.
No, unless there's something built into Windows 10. I haven't installed anything myself. It's a new PC and I'm just in the process of setting it up. Maybe I should try installing an older version of Thunderbird?
What anti virus are you using? they have been know to cause issues. Are you trying to import an old profile? or use a portable version (they have file access issues at times)
Hi, no anti virus installed as yet, just Windows Defender. And I'm not trying to import a profile or use a portable version, just a regular install of the regular version.
